Unusual intermittent 3-4 second tune thru the speakers

In the past ten days I’ve been getting a very short tune played through the speakers of my 14 Ram 3500 which sounds like a very short jingle or sound byte. It's about 6 or 8 notes long, lasts only 3-4 seconds and there is no voice, and no message is present on the EVIC, and all gauge readings that are visible at the time look normal. It happens every 30 minutes or so and mutes the radio when it comes on usually when I’m playing a Sirius station. I haven’t a clue what it is unless it’s a reminder to do something? But there’s no indication or message as to what. It's starting to bother me. Anybody know & can share? I would appreciate any info.

Have you had your truck for about a year? It was probably your free one year Sirius subscription is about to expire. Mine did something like you describe that a week or so ago, the 8.4 screen had a message about my subscription is about to expire, prompting me to renew it. I renewed a few days after I heard it, haven't heard it again. Watch your 8.4 the next time you hear it.

I was considering a voice recording but video is just as easy to record so I'll try loading it on YouTube.
In the mean time I checked with Sirius and they say that they don't inject any reminders or tones to a signal to anyone's account, so its something else.

Yep had it almost a year and I just renewed Sirius by phone. The Sirius guy said no we dont do that. Also called UConnect and they said no also. But they also said to turn off bluetooth on my iPhone because it may be a "software version issue". For the time being I gonna leave the bluetooth on and see if it stops.

How funny the Sirius guy said that.......:-laf Must have been a car salesman in another life, I know what I saw.......no biggy. Also, blaming your Iphone sounds like more of the same horsehockey. I'm betting since you renewed, you won't hear it again.

For whats its worth I have a video of it now. It came on within 3 minutes after I started up. Can't be the blue tooth because it was turned off. And I renewed Sirius XW about 2 hours ago.
I need to download it and trim the boring part but that may take a while.

How funny indeed. You were right and the guy was either lying or stupid. I saw the message you described on the screen come on at the same time the little tune was playing. So now that they got my money for another year maybe they'll stop the harassment. My year doesn't expire until April 20 so its pretty irritating that they start a month early and basically P**s me off every 30 minutes until I paid up early.
