I have got a fuel tank toolbox on order from The Fuelbox. I have a FTC55 ordered with the fill neck moved to the inside of the box because of the high edge of the fender flare on the bed. I am hoping that it will allow less hose dragged over the side. They said that was custom and it would take 6-8 weeks. They lead me to be leave they are made right there. For two weeks now they tell me they are programing the the machine to cut the tank. I am guessing that it is made over seas. Does any one know where they are made?

I have the FTC43 on the way. It took about 6 weeks to get it built. They said when I first inquired that they are back logged on new tank construction and I was under the impression that it took place under the same roof as the person talking on the phone. I didn't out right ask them but thats what I thought after several conversations with a couple of different people there.

I did ask them they avoided answering, I guess it doesn't matter. How do you like the tank? From what I can see they look well built. The one in my last truck was sad the lid was a headache. The truck before that had a Transflo that worked nice it had the butterfly lid, I like a one pice.

It should be at the freight depot when I get home on Wednesday. I'm hoping it lives up to expectations. From what I can tell is that they pride themselves on a quality product. I've had a few different tool boxes but this will be my first aux tank. I wanted the shortest footprint but I also wanted a little depth for the tool box so the 43 seemed the best trade off. 40 gallons is plenty enough for my needs.

I hate having to get one though. I feel like I'm turning my long bed back into a short bed just to have a decent fuel capacity when towing the 5'er. The manufacturers are putting all kinds of capability and factory add ons in a consumer truck so you can tow anything but they haven't done anything with fuel capacity.

I wanted a titan 55 gallon replacement also but the dodge dealer said it could void the warranty. So that was out. My other trucks had tanks. I got used to it didn't seam that bad. It is a bit ridiculous the size of the stock tank compared to the size job they can do. I have to fuel 4 or 5 times on the way to TX compared to 2 times. Let us know what the tank looks like.

So far I like the tank/box. It seems to be a quality product. The lid to the tool box, latches, handles and struts are all fairly stout. I think my kids can sit on this one with out me cringing.
I got the liner inside and out and it is pretty thick and has a close appearance to my factory bed liner. I guess in 5 years I'll know if they age and wear the same.

It does look like it belongs there. I see you have plenty of room to hitch mounts. Mine still isn't here yet. I just got back from a TX run with a tall load and couldn't go 200 miles with out filling up.

I find that strange. My dealership had no problem installing the Titan tank in my 15 3500 before I took delivery. They called me when it showed up on the transporter and I dropped the tank off for install. They thought it was an awesome idea.

What model Titan did you install? 7030313 55gal?

Yep, that's the exact one. They had the tech I trust the most do the install and he was very thorough in following the instructions. Total bill was $196 which I didn't mind knowing it was done correctly. I'm lucky in that I have a good relationship with the service writers and 3 of the techs.

Good to hear it fits and works! I have been waiting to hear if anyone has one. For $196 I would let someone else do it for sure!

Guess I better get one ordered.

Just curious how far you can go before you have to fill up? Do you take it to 1/4 tank? Does it work with the range gage on the dash?

After the install and they transferred the 5 or 6 gallons it came with the gauge barely moved so I knew I could go pretty low. I typically top up at 1/4 or so as I don't like running the pump without the "cooling" the fuel provides. I have run it down as an experiment to the white line just above the Empty red line. At that point it took about 45 gallons to fill up so plenty left. Your gauge will be somewhat off but you get used to it, without a trailer it will stay on full for close to 200 miles.

The range gauge (DTE) is totally off, since the computer doesn't know about the extra fuel it can't included it in the calculation. I wish they would let the techs update the tank size in there, since the C&C can have a 52 gallon I believe it is, even having that setting would bring it closer.

I do numerous trips during the summer towing a toyhauler so have the extra fuel to choose where I stopped was my big thing. My normal tow range is one-way of 420 to 450 miles on average so most of the time I could make it easily without a stop and fuel up while I'm unhooked running around for the weekend.

My RDS auxillary tank is gravity feed to the main main tank so my gauge stays on full until I have used up the aux then it starts down normally. The range meter in EVIC stays on the same figure until I start to use the main..

I seen somewhere that a gravity feed on the new trucks can sometime throw a code because the computer thinks the fuel management isn't reading properly.

I had a gravity feed on my 04.5 worked great.

Still haven't got my tank yet.

I have mine tee'd with one line running though a pump then on to the normally open side of a tank selector switch. The other line runs from the other side of the tee straight to the normally closed side of that selector switch. I will be installing a filter sooner or later and the pump will help pull it through that when I need to speed it up. Right now it flows through the pump just a little slower than unloaded highway consumption. The needle stayed pegged for 2 hours of interstate before it came off. I was waiting for a code but never got it.
I'll end up pulling the selector switch and installing two solenoid valves (or a 2nd selector switch) to have total control without having to mess with the manual valve. I have the factory aux switches.

Well I finally got my tank it took just over 3 months. I was charged just under 300 for customizing, they were supposed move the fill from the front of the tank and put it inside raised up and gusseted. The tool box is 8" deep. When it got here the fill was on the bottom of the box. I called them and they said they would figure something out. So they sent me a hose with clamps. After asking them how they thought that was was going to hold up a big hose like at a truck stop. They said they do it like this all the time. Needless to say I am not impressed. I am also concerned that the piano hinge is out side the lid, I haven't seen that before on my other tanks. I also don't think the lid is strong enough to stand on for shoving snow off the roof. We built a bracket for the fill neck. I have to make a new cover for the fuel gauge and lines. The one that came in it has a hole cut in it, I don't know why but chains and stuff like that will brake off the plastic elbows for the fuel lines. The top of the tank and the bottom of the tool box has about a 1/2" gap. I didn't realizes how munch quality a TransFlow had. We have installed ones from northern tool that were built as well as this for half the price. But it looks good in the truck.

When I installed it I got to use on of the 5 auxiliary panel switches. This is brilliant! When wiring something for power words can't explain how munch easier and clean it makes things. All they need now is to have 5 power blanks under the dash, they don't even need switches just 5 fused blanks to wire from. When I put the CB in I stole power from one of cigarette liter-power outlets. Some of the company trucks we work on look like a wiring rats nest from all the aftermarket radios and what not.
