I have a 2004 2500 4x4 with the 5.9L Cummins. I just purchased a 31' travel trailer with tongue pull & it sags the rear of my truck down a little. I am looking to purchase air bags for the rear of the truck. The truck also has a 4" lift as well. What suggestions do you have for brand and model for this application? I appreciate your time for stopping by to look at this post and any feedback in advance.
Thanks,
Sarge

Any of the standard air bags will work. They mount in place of the rear bump stops. When the truck was lifted they should have installed a spacer between the frame and the bump stop so you will use that spacer with the new air bags.

I believe both Firestone and PacBrake have bags and spacers for lift kits.

I have been using Firestone on various vehicles since 1997, some of which have over 250K miles on them, without any issues other than one schrader valve with a slow leak.

John,
I did a search for the firestone bags, but it says they do not fit my dodge, only F250 & 350....Do you happen to know the model number of the one for dodge. Thanks.

You don't need airbags, you need a weight distribution hitch. Set it so that the front axle weight is the same as when unhitched.

Use fender measurements to rough in and proceed to a certified scale.

I have both and they do different things and want both.

It is very difficult if you have any tongue weight at all to restore it 100% with these LWB trucks. I have 1200-1300lb of TW and don't want to see the tension on the hitch to restore 100%.

Most hitches only want 50% restored these days.

With a lift kit,if you don't want to lose any rear suspension travel you can get some long travel air bags from Carli suspension.I've been using them since about 06 and am very happy how they don't make the ride degrade when I have no weight in the truck.
