Actually, I know WHERE It is but how is the date coded? It ends with numbers that include 2012 and my truck is a 2014! Hmmm?
Sno, I think you might be a bit cornfused......![]()
the OP is talking about an update for the mapping data base in the 8.4, for new streets and such, which is $150 or so. You are talking about the operating software for the 8.4 which is updated for free by uconnect.

Sam where is it found on the 2016?Sounds about right........:-laf my fresh of the vine 2016 is date coded 2014......

I found my map database version. To help others:
For the 2016 model year, the map version/database is not found in the "settings" in the NAV screen. I had looked through the NAV screen and its settings a couple of times thinking I would find the version of its maps there. It is not.
The version code is accessed via the UConnect Controls screen. This is the icon with the heated/cooled seats on the primary screen. Pull that Controls screen up and you will see a Settings icon. It is in this settings screen that you will your version of the maps database.
For my fresh built 2016, the map database is "CMCN4VP4NA;HMNA2014Q2;20141213".
Sam, maybe I was not being clear. I found it in the UConnect display but under Controls (Icon is the heated seat). It is not in the Navigation section menu under the settings there.
BTW, my screen has a slightly different layout than the photo you posted. Here is the view of where the settings are that get you to it on my system.
Our purchase Sept 21st, built 12/2014 has version 20140414, does that mean that I can get a free update? SNOKING
Thanks Sam, I learned something here. I was not aware that I could customize the screen. It is still on the factory defaults. I may tune it up now! That is not what I was saying, sorry if it came off that way. Your way is another way to get to the same screen. In case you aren't aware, you can change the icons at the bottom of the screen. Hit the uconnect apps button and it shows you all the icons available, you can drag and drop them to the bottom of the screen. I never use the media icon so I replaced it with the settings icon, like my screen shows. It is less keystrokes to get to all the settings this way as opposed to the way you are doing it. Not better, just a little quicker.
