Yes it did, even without them cleaning the fuel system. I wish I would have taken a pic of that fuel bottle. I dropped the truck tank when I got home. There was no ice build up, no rusted metal flakes and no grime in the bottom. It was perfectly clean. I also drained both filters into plastic bottles about three hours ago. I'm looking at them now and the fuel is normal colored and there is no fuel/water separation at the bottom.

I'm guessing your engine has a legit problem and the Midwestern Yankee toolbag at the dealership wasn't smart enough to know what he's dealing with. Cross your fingers but I bet it's gonna pop back up............at the worst possible time.

Sorry to hear of your trouble and canceled trip.

Hope you (or a better dealer) find the problem.

It sure would be helpful if there was somewhere we could place dealer service reviews. Sound like the type of dealership folks would avoid if they were aware of their shenanigans...

Still leaves the unanswered question---WHY the codes in post #1???

I've noticed my truck will occasionally hiccup and throw a code on DPF and NOx concentration out of range.

But nothing that causes limp mode or noticable loss of power.

Drive it a bit and it corrects itself and erases its own codes. Part of it might be that the active regens are not as effective as passive regens.

And I don't tow as often as most.

What city is this dealership in? I want to make sure I never go there!

It was in Eau Claire, WI. I can't in all honestly bad mouth the actual dealership. It was just the one diesel tech that I'd never let near my truck again. The rest of the mechanics didn't even agree with him. When I went into the service department to pay, the two girls were trying to figure out my bill. When I asked what the problem was, one of the girls said they're trying to figure out what to charge me. I told her to charge me for the work that was done. She says, that's where the problem is. It's written up for $5XX.XX some odd dollars, but we can't charge you for work we didn't actually do. We're just going to charge you for changing the fuel filters if that's ok with you. Yup, thank you, Merry Christmas!!

So, there is some honesty there, I can't take that from that dealership.

Sounds like there is one bad apple in that shop. Hopefully the service manager will move him to the unemployment line soon. Thank you for the reply. Someone asked the question earlier about why the codes. If the fuel filter were clogged and starving the engine for fuel, the low fuel pressure code and six injector malfunction codes were caused by the lack of fuel pressure due to the clogged filters. The newer engines have some very efficient filters (3-5 micron) that clog easily. Just doing their job protecting the expensive injection system. Gelled fuel occurs when the paraffin in the fuel solidifies and looks much like frog eggs. Will not pass through the filter. The gelling usually occurs between 10 and 20 degrees below zero. Doubt if it gelled at above zero temps. Have a Happy New Year!
