rear seat 2016 crew cab 3500

Does the rear seat back fold down on the 2016 full bench seat? I am trying to get seat covers on and it is rather difficult to get behind. I can't find where the seat back folds forward.
Anyone experienced here with installing seat covers?

You need to loosen the bolts on the base and lift the seat back. There is a mod you can do to release the seat back and also use the available space behind.
The way I understand it is you put a 5/8" spacer under the seat brackets, raise the seat half way and then pull back on the seat back.

I understand that some of these procedures may be generation specific, however, the concept will be the same. You'll have to use the right method once you've removed the bolts on the base and looked at it.

Whoever does it first, can you document your procedure for the rest of us?

I watched the video but I don't see how spacing the seat up 5/8 inch will allow the seat back to pull forward. I must be missing something. Also does anyone know what the weight rating is on the fold down (flat surface panels with legs) things that give you a flat floor for cargo?

Look at the pics in the link in post #5 above....Spacing the seat is the same as cutting off the material that "hooks" it to the back of the cab.
IMO---I'd rather cut off the material as one would then lose 5/8" of headroom, not counting a potentially "looser" attaching point to the cab floor.

The concept is actually pretty simple. The rear seat has hooks that latch down over anchors on the rear wall of the cab, all you have to do is raise the back of the seat to release it from those anchors. When you raise and lower the bottom of your seat as it is right now, you will notice the rear of seat also raises up and down approximately 1/2". If it were to raise a little bit more it would release from the anchors. So, you can do one of two things, either shorten the hooks so they don't have to be raised as far to clear the anchors, or raise the entire seat so the hooks aren't latched as deeply into the anchors.

Why is this even a mod? I remember when I was a kid, my grandfathers Dodge pickups had the tool box built into the lower bed. My '06 Mega Cab used every cubic inch of space in the back seat. It's incredible on what they have done with the seats and storage in the mini vans over the years (the wife has a 2012 T&C). And they have the Ram Box and the little cubbys in the floorboard and under the seats on the current models. The point being that Chrysler/Dodge/Ram has been known to give you that extra storage in crafty ways. I pulled and jerked on these seats when I first got the truck trying to get back there. Thought maybe there is a wire run back there or something they are protecting.
