Hi brothers in the oil,
I went to start my truck yesterday and nothing happened. I had then once before and changed out the 48RE transmission "what gear you're in" signal module and thought I was fixed. Funny thing is when this happens, my EDGE Evolution doesn't show power either which is plugged into the monitor plug under the dash. I fiddle farted around shifting the transmission and turning on and off the keys but still no starting of the starter. Then the EDGE lit up and it started! TADA! My truck has worked fine ever since. BUT it did this before and I hate problems to fix themselves because they can come back when I'm miles away.
Any ideas? I've thought about the ignition switch, ECM module, transmission switch again, replace new starter for elimination or bad connection somewhere. It hits me funny that I didn't have power to the EDGE and might be a clue where to look. Power to it returned and it started. It starts and runs with EDGE plugged in or out. It has never died once started. Does the starter have an ECM signal set up too? By the way, no P codes produced and was clean.
Thank you again, Herb
