Can I use Lucas pure synthetic oil in my G56 manual Trans ?? Just installed dual disk clutch and svc'd Trans w/ royal purple full synthetic atf and the transfer case, if anyone could help, be much appreciated.*

It's probably pretty noisy with ATF.
Some more than others. I use Amsoil 75-90 MTG. It shifts well and is fairly quiet aside from putting through the neighborhood in 3rd.

Delvac Mobil trans synthetic 50 https://www.grainger.com/product/MOBIL-Mobil-Delvac-Syn-Transmission-1MRG2 is a good oil for the G56, especially with a dual disk clutch to help in quietening the trans with the SMF. However keep in mind, the heavier the oil, the more it retains the heat. Before I installed my oil cooler system, it would get up to 250*+. Here's a good post with my setup, but I'm running 100% Delvac now. Someone does mention Lucas oil.

I had two G56 trannys, one in my 2005 one in my 2012. I found that they seemed happiest with the Pensoil Syncromesh gear lube. The 2012 would shift really hard with the factory ATF lube when it got hot. Royal Purple makes a similar product that if I still had the G56 I'd give a try.

I used Pennsoil prior to the smf conversion. It was recommended by Standard Transmission and worked great.
The conversion yielded marbles in the trans sound necessitating a thicker fluid.
Standard recommended an extra qt too. Jacking up the passenger side enables an extra qt.

I have stock DMF and clutch. The maintenance/owners manual does not specify when the ATF4+ should be changed. Should this service be performed every 4 years/60,000 miles?

I'm not going to say anything bad about Royal Purple. Never used it. I see alot of people.on here preferring the Amsoil MTG, though.
I bought the Amsoil MTG for my wife's mazda.

I just changed my original ATF (in my G56) for new ATF. Still got 39k on the max care warranty, so not brave enough to void my warranty

Also, when changing the G56 lube/fluid.....

It is highly recommended that you add an extra quart. This helps insure better lubrication of the main bearing. And can be added through the hole after removing the shift lever

Since you have a 2wd, not sure how your center console comes off. But I bet one bolt is under one of the cup holder liners?

Mine is 4wd with the transfer case lever on the floor. So the other bolt is under the boot for the transfer case.

Hey, thanks for that. In fact, the gear oil change is planned for this weekend before I head back out to Idaho on this next trip.
