This came on the screen today. No engine light, just Perform Service. Is this for the crankcase filter? I can't find my manual to look at the service interval chart, but I kinda remember something about the filter around 65K miles!?

67500 miles, clean EGR, Egr cooler, replace filter
Incorrect.

There's no prescribed EGR Valve or EGR Cooler cleaning at 67.5k or 135.0k intervals on the 2013 & up DEF pickups. Simply change out the CCV, reset the Perform Service light, and stamp it DONE. :-laf

You might want to pull the valve and look at it before making that call.....

Remove bat wing(8mm socket),4 bolts,(10 mm socket).,that mount the valve 1 connector to remove from valve ,disconnect tube (2 styles depending on year and model).Remove 4 phillups screws to remove solenoid from valve(do not loose shim). At that point you will see the valve stem and retainer with keepers.Hold valve head through the engine side of valve depress spring retainer being carefull to not let the 2 keepers fly.Soak till carbon is soft then use a small brush to finish up the cleaning. You know you have done a good job when the valve moves freely with no resistance.

Ok, I changed the filter and cleaned the valve yesterday. Went good, but I can not get the Perform Service message to go away. Any secrets to this?

PERFORM SERVICE INDICATOR - RESET
Unless reset the “Perform Service” message will display on the EVIC each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position to indicate a emission maintenance is required. To reset the “Perform Service” indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine).
2. Press and release the brake pedal two times.
3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illumination when you start the vehicle, the “Perform Service” indicator did not reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.

Ok, did this sequence last night about 20 times. For some reason, I can't get the service reminder to turn off.

Regular keyed system or push-button start???

Are you for sure pushing the brake pedal hard enough???

Regular key. I even took the floor mat out to make sure it was going down all the way.

It says to turn the key to "on". I don't have an "on" option. I have ACC and RUN. I tried on both of those. I'll try again later this week.

Understood......definitely should be "RUN" position. Again....are you sure you're pushing the brake pedal hard enough twice??? Without the engine running....it can be a little stiff.

Otherwise.....I'm

I thought I was, but you're making me second guess myself. I will try again Friday.

I had the perform service light come on this week and I only had 40k miles on a 2016 Ram 2500 Megacab 4X4. The dealership wanted to charge $350 to replace the CCV. I opted to hold off and do some research. I'm glad I did, because I can do this myself.

Sooo, I just got the perform service message on my 2014 that just clicked over 67,500 miles. Looking to buy the filter from Geno's, but confused as to whether I should buy the filter with cooler cleaning kit or not. This thread implies it's a good idea to clean the valve even though that isn't required on the DEF trucks, but isn't clear as to whether or not the cooler should be cleaned as well. If just cleaning the valve, are the gaskets reusable, or do i need to get them from the dealer? The whole cooler cleaning kit looks pretty involved with quite a few gaskets being included, so I would rather not order the kit if I don't need it.
