Couldn't agree more with Amazon, but Genos

Current prices as of today :

Amazon : Set of two Mopar fuel filters $72.00 plus $7.00 to ship $79.00

Genos : Set of two Mopar fuel filters 113.90 plus shipping , which would probably be in the $7-10 range minimum of $121.00. For that price put $37.00 more with it, and get two sets from Amazon.

I like Genos , but giving a minimum of $42.00 for a set of filters

I have literally spent thousands over the years with geno's but I can't justify it on some items anymore.

Amazing they just keep getting cheaper on Amazon.

Just no bargains there . You would think they would try to be a little more competitive , but I think they have such a following they don't care. Probably many that just buy from them, and don't bother to shop around or whatever.

So i went to the local O-Reillys and they had the mopar filters. And funny thing was the cap went right on!!! weird that the Napa one didnt fit. So i tried it again and it went on but not with out being tight! so i think i'll stay with the mopar filters since i can get them local. $17 but i dont have to pay for shipping so it all works out. Now i can do my oil change!!

The Mopar filter is even cheaper at Walmart if you have one around $13.00

Comparing Amazon to Geno's is like comparing the local hardware store to Walmart. Certain things you just can't compete with on a cost per unit basis and Amazon is one of them.

Whats funny is its usually Athens Chrysler that is usually the cheapest on Amazon, at least the other day they were.

Once you have finished with your oil change please give a report as to how going thru the fender with the cap went.

You guys keep bumping this thread and reminding me about procrastinating changing my oil. Guess I have to get out there and do that now. Be back in a bit...

Got everything ready to do the first overdue oil change, emptied my old oil containers in case my normal oil catch pan couldn't hold 3 gal, figured out the 3/8" ratchet end for the drain plug, drained the oil just fine, then started on the filter. Took a lot of umphf to get it off with the limited space of the fender. Dropped it down..."Cool...No oil around the sides!!" Got my trusty , shiny new filter cap, screwed it on as tight as I could threw the fender one handed and thought " Great...this works good!!" Get it about half way out, it hits the inner fender plastic, stops, and then the FLOOD OF OIL GOES EVERYWHERE!!! WTF!!!! The little blue filter cap only works... IF THE OIL FILTER O RING STAYS WITH THE FILTER!!!!!
but in the end it worked well with the 3/4 full new filter getting it in!! 3 gal of Delco 400 15-40. a reset on the dash and all is right with the world again!!
thatnks for the help from on here!! Made it a little easier than just winging it!

Changed mine again yesterday. Used the through the fender method again. As last time I also removed my wheel for extra room. Figured I have it on jack stands anyway, and have an impact so I might as well take the tire off. Everything went smooth, didn't drip a single drop (used the 2 gallon ziplock method). Now to do the fuel filters...

Forgot to add.... I put Rotella 5w40. I must have been careless as I was planning 15w40 this time...but I already had it drained before I reached for the jugs. Oh well, next time. It doesn't get very cold in GA.

The only time I would even think of using synthetic if I was in temperatures 0 or below 0 . As states in the manual. We get down around 10 here, on occasion .I am changing mine tomorrow 3 gallons of 15-40 T4 Rotella . 12.97 per gallon at Walmart :)

IF THE OIL FILTER O RING STAYS WITH THE FILTER!!!!!

I changed the oil in my 2001.5 every time but once. Asked the young guy if he had checked for the gasket on the Mount, and he said yes. I said show me the old filter. He said whoops! And did not charge me for changing it. I had provided the filter and oil. Snoking

Changed my oil for the 2nd time this afternoon. 15w40 Rotella and Fleetguard for me. Only spilled a qt of oil this time :D

One time with this 2014 at the dealer, got me cured . I think in nearly 16 years with my old Superduty I had it changed three times by someone, and pretty much stood over them .

Good job, my goal is to spill a quart or less.

I may go to the 11 quarts ,and 24 ounce routine , then I'll have 8 ounces to spill , and STILL be on the full mark :D
