I'm torn between American racing AR23 or AR172

Here are the AR23:

I vote for the 72's but to each his own, Someone else may hate them.
In the end you will have to make the final call.

The AR-23's look good! You can see from the picture that I bought the American wheels, along with Goodyear Wranglers, from Tire Rack. My brother is the original purchaser of the truck, and he had some Bad Boy wheels on it that were very similar to the Americans. Problem with them is they were 16.5" and that really limited tire choice in the 'won't run you out of the truck at speed' factor.

I like the Americans though, just wish they made a center cap from stainless steel.

I like the 172's out of the pair although I would also prefer a set of 4th gen wheels. They seem to hold up to the road treatments and general abuse better than most after market wheels from my experiences. I've been running a set of 17's off of a 2012 for the last 4 years. The down side to this is the tire selection has really dwindled not to mention the weight ratings have been reduced to roughly the same as a 16" tire or slightly less depending on size. If the OEM 18's would fit without spacers I'd have a set.

Thanks JR! Trolling the internet a little I see a ton of the AR172's, I think that's because they look so much like the Mickey Thompsons. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the AR23's

I'm thinking about replacing the tires and wheels on my 06 Dually. I'm not pleased with the steel wheels and the plastic chrome covers. Any recommendations??

Hey Snoking, Thanks. Very nice looking wheels. Would those fit on a 97 2500??

I do not know, you would have to check the offset carefully. 275/70R18E's are rated at 3640 pounds each. They are 33.19" in diameter.
Another picture. SNOKING
