Hello Everyone,
*
I am hoping there may be someone here who can help me.

I just did an EGR valve and EGR cooler clean on my 2013 RAM 2500, 6.7L. I did the soak and got tons of soot out of them. Was sure to dry them out well and reinstall.

I bought the kit from Genos Garage so I changed the CCV and air filter too.

Initially right after reassembly I had a "Check Electronic Throttle Assembly" message with the red lightnening bolt. But it went away on its own.

So the current issue is that Now it will run but has no real *power . *It seems like the turbos not working. *It doesn't have that turbo diesel power it had before I did the clean. *And I mean it is VERY noticeable.

Has anyone else ever experienced this or maybe has some ideas of what may be causing the power loss?

Im afraid to drive it now because I dont want to damage anything.

*Thank you in advance!

Mike

There have been some reported instances of the egr valve getting stuck open with the stepper motor functioning properly, thus not throwing a code...in other words, check for smooth function of the valve....apparently it doesn't take much to hang it up...

There is apparently some confusion/misinformation floating around the web.The position of the valve is monitored by the actuator. The ecm always knows the position and travel of the valve. If there is a communication problem or a failure of the actuator it will be reported. There are multiple sensors that also confirm egr operation. The driver will not feel a lack of power if the egr valve is open under most driving conditions.Forget everything you know about egr on a gasser

Thanks for the replies and sorry for my lag gett Ng back on here. *

So when I was finished with the reassembly, *the last thing I did was reconnect the neg battery cables and fired it up. *I then noticed an exhaust leak right at the cooler so I disconnected the egr assy at the top and re did the cooler connection . *But when I did this I never disconnected the batteries again. *

So after re assembly the second time I noticed I had the power loss. *It came to mind that maybe I should have disconnected the batteries again before I started unplugging everything. * So all I did was disconnect and reconnect the batteries. *Check engine light is now off and it seems to running fine now. *Actually a lot smoother than it was before.

So all seems good ... Except that twice during the last week I get a "battery power saver" message. *And it goes off on its own. * I don't know what that's about yet.

Thanks!
