At 30739 miles the OEM Firestone AT got sent to tire heaven. I got Michelin Defender LTX M&S at Costco. The FS AT's were down to 3 or 4 32nds and I was noticing a handling difference along with traction issues on wet pavement.

Costco is now part of the nanny state tire shops. I asked for 60 in the front and 50 in the rear. Supervisor came to we and said that they could not do that, as the truck calls for 55/80. I said look at door sticker for front, as it states 60 or 3020 according to the inflation chart to cover the RGAWR of 6K. They gave it back to me with 60 in the front and 75 in the rear. Before I left their lot I let the rears down to my normal 50 lbs bobtail inflation.

Handling appears to be back to what it was when it round off the lot. It seems to ride maybe a little softer than the OEM AT's.

Friday we have a little road trip so will see how they handle at higher speed.

I got them now so by the later part of Sept when we head out for the winter they will be run in a bit.

I put those on mine last year before leaving on a 8000 mile trip. Much better wear and ride then the Firestone AT.

'If I didn't need a traction tire, I'd be all over the Michelin tires. The set that came with my 3rd gen went about 70-80K miles if my memory serves me correctly.

SNOKING did you price the same tires at Discount Tire just down the road? Last two sets of Michelins Discount DESTROYED Costco on price.

Discount said they would match the rebate at Costco and tires were the same price. Costco Citi CC cash back and Costco yearly refund was also in play. Tires BTW were manufactured 19 month of 2017.

I just replaced my Toyo Open Country AT II's with 45k on them.....$340-ish each. Ugh. However, coming home from the tire store gives a man the same feeling a woman has when she leaves the salon.....on top of the world!

Do you have 20" rims and tires. I was thinking($340) that was a second reason to not have them. 1st reason was the 18" Laramie wheels are the best looking ones in RAM's stable!

Yes, but they are aftermarket wheels that were installed by the dealer. While I do like them, I would never have forked over the money to have them installed later, but again, they were already installed....and chicks dig-em.

I was stuck with 20" wheels on my '05 1500 and I hate them. For many years there was little choice of tire and the Goodyears that came with the truck would die if you breathed hard on them. The Goodrich ones I have now are better but I really would like 10 ply tires. Next truck.

Pricing Firestone's at LT275/70/18 at 180.00 a piece at a corporate store. But on Craigslist you can find brand new Firestone's 18 for 650.00 for a set..No joy on that pricing on Michelins yet any were.....One thing through I noticed Toyo Open Country HT are dropping on price to around 189.00 now on some websites not sure if local tire dealers would match through...

You never know. Costco waived the mounting and road hazard for executive members and threw in $60 off last time on Michelins. Using our Costco Citibank yielded and additional discount. Win,win.

Costco has a lock on Michelin truck tires. I price shopped all the retail and online stores (Tread Depot, Tire Warehouse), but after purchasing road hazard protection, mounting and balancing, and shipping costs they were all over the total cost of purchasing at Costco. Add in the worth of six to eight balance and rotations over a lifetime, and others aren't even close. I had the same problem having the tire techs at Costco in Colorado Springs inflating the tires to the low load setting upon purchase and after a balance and rotate. They give you a look and attitude as if you are stupid or something since they only have full load specs. Yes, I even instructed them to take a peak at the door jam inflation sticker. Make sure you have a tire gauge with you and bleed your tires before heading home.

ROCK Throwers AGAIN

We live in a RV Park with gravel roads. Now when I go out the gate I get to throw rocks for the first ten miles. All my LTX Mich's have been that way. I feel sorry for those that loose a windshield! SNOKING

You do realize 12 months comprise a year, right? :-laf

It is the 19th week of production.....or between May 8th and May 14th, 2017. :D

Hopefully.......you will have better luck with your Michelins than those BLEMS Cummins12V98 bought.
