DPF delete help

I have a new 16 Ram that would like to delete sometime but I'm trying to do a little research. I like how quiet the truck is stock but it looks like all the delete kits are either straight piped or a performance muffler. Im coming from a compounded 5.9 that had a magnaflow exhaust and wasnt bad. But I like how quiet this truck is inside. I dont mind a little rumble or turbo noise just seeing how I can preserve it the best I can. Any recommendations? Also is the SCR system after the DPF a muffler? Can it stay on? Dont mean to sound like a noob but its my first time messing with the systems on the 2016's.

You might look up PD Diesel Power on YouTube... One of his hotshot trucks has over 300k on it, completely stock.... If you still think you want to drop over $1,500 to delete, then you should probably look at Cummins Forum for that info.

There just isn't that much trouble with the new trucks to bother with delete's. just drive it and enjoy all it has to offer.

Why would you forgo your factory warranty to become your own warranty station? These new trucks can be very expensive to reapir. If you have that kind of money to throw around, throw it at the little extra fuel you now use vs deleted. SnoKing

I have no intentions of deleting my truck. With that said, if still own my current truck after the ext warranty is up, I will delete. There is no snow ball chance in hell that I will spend thousands of dollars to keep my truck running when I can delete for thousands less.

Wouldn't hurt to have some info on TDR for deleting for those that chose to venture down that path. Keep us up to date OP.

I'm thinking the same. My truck gave me a DPF warning saying it was full of ash it couldn't burn off. It wasn't. But could be in the future if I get bad fuel. I think some bad fuel was released from refineries amidst the Harvey & Irma storms as fuel companies rushed fuel to market.

They (the dealer service dept) forced a regen for an hour.
The forced regen was covered by the emissions warranty, but the PCM update that they said it needed wasn't.

If the state doesn't test for emissions compliance, I might be looking at a delete in the future.

Why delete functional components? , You can have power and still keep the COC on your truck, that being said if the EPA is going to enforce CAA laws that are lifetime, than Mandatory extended warranty should follow CAA Laws, If emission components prematurely fail by all means its your preference to delete. MME, Midwest Motor Express, I was at their shop last week and they had ISX motors 500K+ miles seeing 1st EGR service.

Did the dealer show you the pcm update was not covered on paper?

No. But I gave them very bad feedback on my review of their service. I said they should have told me or asked me about the PCM update if it wasn't covered by the federal emissions warranty

Edit: they did the update without telling me when I assumed everything was under warranty (fed emissions). So I was not expecting a charge, not even a deductible from my maxcare

Keep in mind this is the same dealer service dept that didn't know how to perform the TSB for turning on the rear fuel filter heater. Even after I printed it out for them and pointed to the 12 step process.

Sadly all the dealer service dept are incompetent in S. Florida

It is covered under the 5/100 diesel emissions coverage.There is a possibility the dealer is inept and checked the auto trans # being you have a stick of course that# would not be covered

It is also illegal in Florida. But they force you to sign a release when you drop it off. I expect them to communicate better, tho. I call them 5 times and never get a return call.

There's no muffler as the DPF acts as one. Most deletes I've seen are straight pipe from the turbo back. Some put a resonator to make it a little less rumble but the sound either way is pretty nice.
