2019 Spy Photo's

I'm going to reserve judgement until I'm standing in front of it. Some vehicles seem to look totally different and acceptable in real life outside of a picture. When the 2009 1500 came out I didn't like it in a picture but totally changed my mind when up close and personal.
Two vehicles that will always be hideously ugly to me are the Pontiac *****crack (Aztec) and the Chevrolet Avalanche. Way too much molded plastic and bad lines. It seems that new designs sometimes just take some time to grow on you.

I thought the 3 gen was a step back from the 2 gen style wise, it was the mechanicals that made the 3 gen good.

Does anyone have information on any engine or chassis changes yet? I haven't been very happy with the engine in our 2010 1/2 ton, but the chassis, suspension, interior quality have been top notch. I hope they leave many of those parts in place.

Looks like they whited out the driver. You can see what appears to be a hand behind the lower left portion of the steering wheel.

I like the duct tape on the center of the wheel too!

The man with the sweater fetish says Ram will continue to build both the 4th and 5th gens for at least one model year. Looks like they're trying to milk every last drop out of the teat before getting rid of the 4th gen tooling.
That or they're anticipating some growing pains in their new facility where the 5th gen will be built.

My thoughts exactly! I really do hope Ram maintains their identity through the next gen but it's not looking so good.

The big difference between now and 1994 is back then Dodge went radically DIFFERENT. Now RAM is morphing into just another cookie cutter vehicle trying to appeal to everyone. Too bad.

Exactly my first thought, the new Fiat 1500 looks like something from chevy/gmc. The RAM interiors are horrible, more suited to a Lincoln owner with status issues than in a pickup truck. Between the price and the electronic nannies (not to mention the looks) I have no desire to buy a new rolling computer abortion. Thank you designers at RAM for making my 05 seem like the bestest pickup Dodge ever produced! (Now if it would only stop dissolving away...rust)

I don't remember exactly where I saw it, but aren't they going to keep the existing style for ST work trucks and change the design for the higher levels?

Some of us like a more upscale interior for our daily driver truck. That’s why they offer a variety of interiors.

It isn’t just RAM putting more electronics in trucks (or all vehicles). Without all the electronics, none would meet govt requirements for safety or emissions.

By the way, this is not to imply that I agree or endorse what they are doing. I like the simple heating controls on my ‘05 and I wish mine wasn’t rusting away too.

I was on a run to Marietta, GA on Monday and saw two HD test mules on I-75 north in southern KY. One was pulling an empty gooseneck trailer, the other was bobtailing. I have the video saved on my Garmin 55.

I wonder why they're hiding the back corner of the cab? Doesn't look big enough to be a mega cab, so my guess it's a larger crew cab with true "fold flat" rear seats.

I'd guess to also hide the rear window and cab/box split. Notice the HD doesn't have the same front end as the 1500...or they're just running a current liught setup to keep us guessing.

If true 2020 that's sad, but the power increase may still be in the 19's that will be BIG!

Cummins can turn up the wick all they want. FCA still doesn't have the driveline to handle it. The torque management issues they have now would only get worse if they had a full grand on the twist meter. A 4-digit torque rating is Class 7-8 territory... The AS69RC will never handle it... nor will the B-W transfer case or AAM diffs. First and second gears would have to be locked out if low range is engaged at the t-case, otherwise the driveline would east itself.
