I also Have machine Shops So most of My time Now is Running all This Plus My T&C Business. I've worked at CAT ,Cummins, I also had Parcel ownership of a Dodge Franchise I sold under contract still have all those Ties. I read on forums all the time but wise owners navigate thru all the Keystroke kings and generally make the calls base on background and facts.......Nothing wrong with expressing one's opinion base on the skill and resources they have in fact I encourage discussions even heated one's... To answer your question Yes and be present if possible and check out that tail pipe, I'm also inclined to say the EGR and Turbo get cleaned also The Cummins EGR chamber has a Bypass and gate on the downside of the EGR that's gotta be seeing some heat and the Turbo cycles and it gets Darn hot, the fan engages about every 5 minutes to keep things form over heating.
When you engage the Desoot with WITECH you can unplug the Unit and it will time-out IF YOU DON'T TOUCH THE SERVICE BRAKE OR RELASE THE PARKING BRAKE OR TOUCH THE go PEDAL. in fact after it engages and dose it stuff ,it will drop to idle and even shut off if you have key-less go and remove the key... thats why they warn you in the pop up in WITECH you must have at least 8 gallons of fuel or above 30% on the gage or Data page.
