It's sad man. I'm not sure how we get to the point kids and young people decide murder and or suicide is the answer to their problems but here we are.

The shooter got dealt bad cards from the point of inception. Licensing should be required to breed.

People NEED to take the nut jobs seriously when they notice them going off the rails.

People just don't understand the statistics when you have a society pretty much unarmed violent crime escalates, when you have an armed society crimes drop. It seems to me that some of the faculty is going to need to arm themselves, its the world that we live in.

Banning guns isn't going to work the BAD GUYs don't live by the law anyway.

Considering we are one of the most armed societies on the planet and people are getting massacred daily I don't see how that argument holds water.

I can go on & on just as you can for the UNARMED SIDE OF THE FENCE personally I carry and will take the chance that I DONT need to use it, but if you need it and AINT GOT IT YOUR XXXXED!!!!

Well it says gun crime is down, and we have known that for years. However this only links a correlation and that doesn't mean causation. There are multiple factors that increase and decrease violent crime and murder rates including a giant crackdown on gang violence that happened during that period.

It also states in that article gang violence is a large portion of of the issue. Legally or illegally purchased is beside the point.

It always ends with the guns vs no guns argument, but the issues we have with murder and voilence stem from other issues that are not always the tool at hand. We still sit far above similarly developed countries when comparing murder rates. It is a statistic and reality that needs to be addressed.

The solution could be any number of things up to and including economic, social, or weapons regulation changes. However when you look at countries like Australia where tightening gun laws lowered murder rates it stands as an option for the US if other steps fail.

I will still continue to buy firearms, shoot them, and enjoy them. However, I won't lose sleep if they are banned in the future. We sit at a place where even if we were armed to the teeth as citizens with fully automatic weapons with correct training in the event of a government gone mad we couldn't compete with military weaponry even more so now with the growing use of unmaned vehicles, drones, and remote attacks.

I also carry. I have a Kimber 380 that I don't recommend and a Ruger p95 that I do carry and recommend. I carried a Kimber crimson carry for a short while but it was just not reliable enough.

I know it's not the case this time, but what percentage of violent crimes are committed with leagally owned weapons? Want an even lower percentage? Investigate what percentage of people who have concealed carry permits have committed a crime while in possession of a firearm.

Americans own 50 percent of the privately owned guns on Earth and we are 5 percent of the Earth population. Should we own them all, NOT! Why does a private citizen need a AR-15, AK-47 or SKS? These are weapons designed to kill people! Is this a modern day sport like the turning Lions loose on people in the Colosseum. We all know the big cat will win.

Maybe this latest event will rally the young to register to vote and help throw out all the NRA owned politicians.

Yes we had M-16's at our USCG Base in Thailand in 1966-67.

I will stop right here, I WILL keep what I have and continue to add to it, the guns AREN'T going away EVER even if they were to go knocking on the door with a collection order it will be worse, then the only ones that will have guns will be the criminals that don't abide by the law. OH WAIT CRIMINALS ARENT SUPPOSED TO HAVE THEM ANYWAY MAYBE THEY WILL GIVE THEM UP

YOU THINK?????

So you're telling us that if AR's, AK's and the SKS is banned and that no one has the right to own one, that people will stop killing other people? OMG! Why didn't I think of that? Problem solved Snoking! Let the Lion lay down with the Lamb.....

I will lay this bet. They will, eventually. You know what you or I will be able to do about it? Absolutely nothing.

The second amendment was very clear in it's intention to arm American citizens to fight and protect their freedom against corrupt government. Considering the citizens are ages behind military tech the chances you will be able to successfully defend the citizens against government overreach even with everyone armed is precisely squat.

Worked pretty well across Europe and is standing pretty darn good in Australia as well.
