If you feel comfortable with a 380 by all means that's good enough for me. I would like to explain why and what I carry on a daily basis but right now I'm at work having our motor home wired up with Company electronics & the shop is also servicing the automatic transmission that I don't feel good about doing. One thing that I must say is that I probably missed in my research on the subject is all the Law enforcement agencies and Military around the world that use the 380, I maybe wrong but aren't the bad guys the same ones whether or not you are Joe public or a LEO

The overwhelming evidence points to the signal largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes.

Multiple credible scientific studies going back more than a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior. One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. www.ssristories.com is one popular site that has documented over 4500 “ Mainstream Media “ reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs.

The following is a list of mass shooting perpetrators and the drugs they were taking or had been taking shortly before their horrific actions.

The list was compiled and published to Facebook by John Noveske, founder and owner of Noveske Rifleworks just days before he was mysteriously killed in a single car accident. Is there a link between Noveske's death and his “outting” of information numerous disparate parties would prefer to suppress, for a variety of reasons ?

I leave that to the individual readers to decide. But there is most certainly a documented history of people who “knew to much” or were considered a “threat” dying under extraordinarily suspicious circumstances.

On to the list of mass shooters and the stark link to psychotropic drugs:

Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather's girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.

Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.

Chris Fetters, age 13, killed his favorite aunt while taking Prozac. Christopher Pittman, age 12, murdered both his grandparents while taking Zoloft. Mathew Miller, age 13, hung himself in his bedroom closet after taking Zoloft for 6 days.

Kip Kinkel, age 15, (on Prozac and Ritalin) shot his parents while they slept then went to school and opened fire killing 2 classmates and injuring 22 shortly after beginning Prozac treatment.

Luke Woodham, age 16 (Prozac) killed his mother and then killed two students, wounding six others.

A boy in Pocatello, ID (Zoloft) in 1998 had a Zoloft-induced seizure that caused an armed stand off at his school.

Michael Carneal (Ritalin), age 14, opened fire on students at a high school prayer meeting in West Paducah, Kentucky. Three teenagers were killed, five others were wounded..

A young man in Huntsville, Alabama (Ritalin) went psychotic chopping up his parents with an ax and also killing one sibling and almost murdering another. Andrew Golden, age 11, (Ritalin) and Mitchell Johnson, aged 14, (Ritalin) shot 15 people, killing four students, one teacher, and wounding 10 others.

TJ Solomon, age 15, (Ritalin) high school student in Conyers, Georgia opened fire on and wounded six of his class mates.

Rod Mathews, age 14, (Ritalin) beat a classmate to death with a bat. James Wilson, age 19, (various psychiatric drugs) from Breenwood, South Carolina, took a .22 caliber revolver into an elementary school killing two young girls, and wounding seven other children and two teachers.

Elizabeth Bush, age 13, (Paxil) was responsible for a school shooting in Pennsylvania

Jason Hoffman (Effexor and Celexa) – school shooting in El Cajon, California Jarred Viktor, age 15, (Paxil), after five days on Paxil he stabbed his grandmother 61 times.

Chris Shanahan, age 15 (Paxil) in Rigby, ID who out of the blue killed a woman.

Jeff Franklin (Prozac and Ritalin), Huntsville, AL, killed his parents as they came home from work using a sledge hammer, hatchet, butcher knife and mechanic's file, then attacked his younger brothers and sister.

Neal Furrow (Prozac) in LA Jewish school shooting reported to have been court-ordered to be on Prozac along with several other medications.

Kevin Rider, age 14, was withdrawing from Prozac when he died from a gunshot wound to his head. Initially it was ruled a suicide, but two years later, the investigation into his death was opened as a possible homicide. The prime suspect, also age 14, had been taking Zoloft and other SSRI antidepressants.

Alex Kim, age 13, hung himself shortly after his Lexapro prescription had been doubled.

Diane Routhier was prescribed Welbutrin for gallstone problems. Six days later, after suffering many adverse effects of the drug, she shot herself.

Billy Willkomm, an accomplished wrestler and a University of Florida student, was prescribed Prozac at the age of 17. His family found him dead of suicide – hanging from a tall ladder at the family's Gulf Shore Boulevard home in July 2002.

Kara Jaye Anne Fuller-Otter, age 12, was on Paxil when she hung herself from a hook in her closet. Kara's parents said “…. the damn doctor wouldn't take her off it and I asked him to when we went in on the second visit. I told him I thought she was having some sort of reaction to Paxil…”)

Gareth Christian, Vancouver, age 18, was on Paxil when he committed suicide in 2002, (Gareth's father could not accept his son's death and killed himself.)

Julie Woodward, age 17, was on Zoloft when she hung herself in her family's detached garage.

Matthew Miller was 13 when he saw a psychiatrist because he was having difficulty at school. The psychiatrist gave him samples of Zoloft. Seven days later his mother found him dead, hanging by a belt from a laundry hook in his closet.

Kurt Danysh, age 18, and on Prozac, killed his father with a shotgun. He is now behind prison bars, and writes letters, trying to warn the world that SSRI drugs can kill.

Woody ____, age 37, committed suicide while in his 5th week of taking Zoloft. Shortly before his death his physician suggested doubling the dose of the drug. He had seen his physician only for insomnia. He had never been depressed, nor did he have any history of any mental illness symptoms.

A boy from Houston, age 10, shot and killed his father after his Prozac dosage was increased.

Hammad Memon, age 15, shot and killed a fellow middle school student. He had been diagnosed with ADHD and depression and was taking Zoloft and “other drugs for the conditions.”

Matti Saari, a 22-year-old culinary student, shot and killed 9 students and a teacher, and wounded another student, before killing himself. Saari was taking an SSRI and a benzodiazapine.

Steven Kazmierczak, age 27, shot and killed five people and wounded 21 others before killing himself in a Northern Illinois University auditorium. According to his girlfriend, he had recently been taking Prozac, Xanax and Ambien. Toxicology results showed that he still had trace amounts of Xanax in his system.

Finnish gunman Pekka-Eric Auvinen, age 18, had been taking antidepressants before he killed eight people and wounded a dozen more at Jokela High School – then he committed suicide.

Asa Coon from Cleveland, age 14, shot and wounded four before taking his own life. Court records show Coon was on Trazodone.

Jon Romano, age 16, on medication for depression, fired a shotgun at a teacher in his New York high school.

Missing from list… 3 of 4 known to have taken these same meds….

What drugs was Jared Lee Loughner on, age 21…… killed 6 people and injuring 14 others in Tuscon, Az

What drugs was James Eagan Holmes on, age 24….. killed 12 people and injuring 59 others in Aurora Colorado

What drugs was Jacob Tyler Roberts on, age 22, killed 2 injured 1, Clackamas Or

What drugs was Adam Peter Lanza on, age 20, Killed 26 and wounded 2 in Newtown Ct

Those focusing on further firearms bans or magazine restrictions are clearly focusing on the wrong issue and asking the wrong questions, either as a deliberate attempt to hide these links, or out of complete and utter ignorance.

Don't let them! Force our elected “representatives” and the biased media to cast a harsh spotlight on the issue of mental illness drungs. Don't stop hounding them until they do. As the antis say, “even if is saves just one life” , it is worth doing.

Russian bots feast on school massacre
ATTACK QUICKLY BECAME ONLINE DISINFORMATION
Any divisive issue is seized to sow discord, experts say
By SHEERA FRENKEL AND DAISUKE WAKABAYASHI
The New York Times

SAUL MARTINEZ / THE NEW YORK TIMES

Demonstrators rally Saturday for gun legislation outside the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, three days after the high-school mass shooting in nearby Parkland.

SAN FRANCISCO — One hour after news broke about the school shooting in Florida last week, Twitter accounts suspected of having links to Russia released hundreds of posts taking up the gun-control debate.

The accounts addressed the news with the speed of a cable news network. Some adopted the hashtag #guncontrolnow. Others used #gunreformnow and #Parklandshooting.

Earlier on Wednesday, before the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, many of those accounts had been focused on the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

“This is pretty typical for them, to hop on breaking news like this,” said Jonathon Morgan, chief executive of New Knowledge, a company that tracks online disinformation campaigns. “The bots focus on anything that is divisive for Americans. Almost systematically.”

One of the most divisive issues in the nation is how to handle guns, pitting Second Amendment advocates against proponents of gun control. And the messages from these automated accounts, or bots, were designed to widen the divide and make compromise even more difficult.

Any news event — no matter how tragic — has become fodder to spread inflammatory messages in what is believed to be a far-reaching Russian disinformation campaign. The disinformation comes in various forms: conspiracy videos on YouTube, fake interest groups on Facebook, and armies of bot accounts that can hijack a discussion on Twitter.

Those automated Twitter accounts have been closely tracked by researchers. Last year, the Alliance for Securing Democracy, in conjunction with the German Marshall Fund, a public policy research group in Washington, created a website that tracks hundreds of Twitter accounts of human users and suspected bots that they have linked to a Russian influence campaign.

The researchers zeroed in on Twitter accounts posting information that was in step with material coming from well-known Russian propaganda outlets. To spot an automated bot, they looked for certain signs, like an extremely high volume of posts or content that conspicuously matched hundreds of other accounts.

The researchers said they had watched as the bots began posting about the Parkland shooting shortly after it happened.

Amplified by bot swarms, Russian-linked Twitter accounts tried to foment discord before and after the election. Hundreds of accounts promoted false stories about Hillary Clinton and spread articles based on leaked emails from Democratic operatives that had been obtained by Russian hackers.

Facebook, Google and Twitter have, to varying degrees, announced new measures to eliminate bot accounts, and have hired more moderators to help them weed out disinformation on their platforms.

But since the election, the Russian-linked bots have rallied around other divisive issues, often ones that President Donald Trump has tweeted about. They promoted Twitter hashtags like #boycottnfl, #standforouranthem and #takeaknee after some National Football League players started kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice.

The automated Twitter accounts helped popularize the #releasethememo hashtag, which referred to a secret House Republican memorandum that suggested the FBI and the Justice Department abused their authority to obtain a warrant to spy on a former Trump campaign adviser. The debate over the memo widened a schism between the White House and its own law-enforcement agencies.

The bots are “going to find any contentious issue, and instead of making it an opportunity for compromise and negotiation, they turn it into an unsolvable issue bubbling with frustration,” said Karen North, a socialmedia professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. “It just heightens that frustration and anger.”

Intelligence officials in the United States have warned that malicious actors will try to spread disinformation before the 2018 midterm elections. In testimony to Congress last year and in private meetings with lawmakers, social-media companies promised that they will do better in 2018 than they did in 2016.

But the Twitter campaign around the Parkland shooting is an example of how Russian operatives are still at it.

“We’ve had more than a year to get our act together and address the threat posed by Russia and implement a strategy to deter future attacks, but I believe, unfortunately, we still don’t have a comprehensive plan,” Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said during a hearing this month on global threats to the United States. “What we’re seeing is a continuous assault by Russia to target and undermine our democratic institutions, and they’re going to keep coming at us.”

When the Russian bots jumped on the hashtag #Parklandshooting — initially created to spread news of the shooting — they quickly stoked tensions. Exploiting the issue of mental illness in the gun-control debate, they propagated the notion that Nikolas Cruz, the suspected gunman, was a mentally ill “lone killer.” They also claimed that he had searched for Arabic phrases on Google before the shooting. Simultaneously, the bots started other hashtags, like #ar15, for the semi-automatic rifle used in the shooting, and #NRA.

The bots’ behavior follows a pattern, said Morgan, one of the researchers who worked with the German Marshall Fund to create Hamilton 68, the website that monitors Russian bot and fake Twitter activity. The bots target a contentious issue like race relations or guns. They stir the pot, often animating both sides and creating public doubt about institutions like the police or media. Any issue associated with extremist views is a ripe target. The goal is to push fringe ideas into the “slightly more mainstream,” Morgan said. If well-known people retweet the bot messages or link to a website the bots are promoting, the messages gain an edge of legitimacy.

An indictment made public Friday by Mueller as part of the investigation into Russian interference in the election mentioned a Russian Twitter feed, @TEN_GOP, which posed as a Tennessee Republican account and attracted more than 100,000 followers. Messages from this account, now deleted, were retweeted by the president’s sons and close advisers including Kellyanne Conway and former national-security adviser Michael T. Flynn.

The indictment also described how fraudulent Russian accounts on Twitter tried to push real Americans into action. The indictment said the fake Twitter account @March_for_Trump had organized political rallies for Trump in New York before the election, including a “March for Trump” rally on June 25, 2016, and a “Down With Hillary” gathering on July 23, 2016.

By Friday morning, the bots that pushed the original tweets around the Parkland shooting had moved on to the hashtag #falseflag — a term used by conspiracy theorists to refer to a secret government operation that is carried out to look like something else — with a conspiracy theory that the shooting had never happened.

By Monday, the bots had new targets: the Daytona 500 auto race in Daytona Beach, Florida, and news about William Holleeder, a man facing trial in the Netherlands for his suspected role in six gangland killings. It is unclear why.

“What we’re seeing is a continuous assault by Russia to target and undermine our democratic institutions ...”
SEN. MARK WARNER, D-VA.
Still no comprehensive plan to counter threat, he says

Sled Dog, thanks for posting that information. And PawPaw, that is a perfect synopsis. SnoKing, are you on drugs? If not, I suggest you move up-wind from those old farts that sit around the campfire with you in the trailer park.

One of the beautiful things about being a full-time RVer is that if you don't like your neighbors you can hook-up and say bye-bye in a matter of minutes. That's right SnoKing, if there are any vacancies in your campground, I'd bet two of them are on either side of you. Your thoughts are both impacted and repetitious, and should I also say only of interest to Newsa? Ho-hum...

Nick I'll explain what and why I carry what I do, you seem to be one of the more lucid thinking not arguing and busy cut & pasting.

I had to look at the blistics on a 380, I really had no idea what they are I just knew that I'm not comfortable risking everything on something that spits out lead with a max of 100 gr and often less than 1000 fps. With these less than empressive stat's add shooting through & into heavy clothing I feel better results would be had with applying a good BixxH Slap EVEN IF THE SHOOTER IS ABLE TO DOUBLE TAPP TO UNDER THE TENCE MOMENT. Even my secondary a +P 130 gr 38 Special has been proven better ballistics although it will only need to penatrate heavy clothing on one side of the confrontation because I carry that in a ankle holster. My primary (HERE WE GO!!! :-laf) for now is a S & W 629,3" 44 mag. I carry 180 gr XTP on top of 12 gr of unique, this gives CONTROLLABLE recoil. When we think about it I have friends in the local sheriffs department that carry Glocks with 40 cal packing the same weight lead and similar ballistics. in warm weather where less clothing is the norm things change in MY choices.

There's lots of different type of concealed options I HAVE DRAWERS full of them. This is an open carry state and I'm sorry to say that I DID take advantage of that and wore my iron like the fancy watch that my FIL bought me when my Timex took a licking and couldn't keep ticking. In our little town 40 miles away from indy with people who only go into indy for the state fair, open carry became a little odd for me, the unknown people who attend the same Church (YES!!! and I didn't burst into flame) didn't stop like they did to talk about the crops & weather. This is the reason FOR NOW to use wheel guns I can put the 44 in my Carhartt coat and ruin the pocket if I needed to. I don't ACTUALLY need to carry for work its just sometimes I go into some pretty weird parts of the state BOTH white & black the company CEO was told before I came to work I DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT AT LEAST ONE!!

I got a kick out of a stat that last years record in INDY was something like 150 homicides. I went to an accident investigation the officers were taking about that and my reason for my carry. I had to giggle the look on their faces when I told them when we lived in. calif 150 would probably be a month or close to it & thats just San Bernardino county not including LA & Orange, Riverside counties.

Like I said before if a 380 is your choice BY ALL MEANS CARRY IT. In my opinion if you have the LEAGAL right to carry and DONT!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

To me, .380 is the very minimum viable carry round. I have a Sig P238 (.380) and I have carried it, but not for several years. When the opportunity came up to buy a very good condition used Sig P938 (9mm), I jumped on it. The P938 is only a tiny bit bigger than the P238, but packs a harder punch.

The P938 is always in my pocket. It works well, even in sweatpants. If I'm wearing pants with a belt there is also a .45 on my hip, but the P938 is still in my pocket.

My primary (HERE WE GO!!! :-laf) for now is a S & W 629,3" 44 mag. I carry 180 gr XTP on top of 12 gr of unique, this gives CONTROLLABLE recoil.

Isn't that Clint Eastwoods choice of short barreled rifle?:D The 'N' frame is too big for my grip as is the double stack magazine grip of the Glock .40's. Now that I am retired and always in the grease or dirt with my manure business, I will always be caught without any protection, so yes, as you say, my bad:) I will say that the rural area I live in, the need is slim to none.

No!! Harry had a 6.5" 29 I have one of those TOO! :-laf For work I wear the long & short sleeve Button down Carhartt shirts. I do represent a company and the sloppy look isn't appropriate IMO. either is scaring the xxxx out of the customers wheilding some big Hog Leg, thats the reason for the 3" version

Ive been practicing draw with my summer choice SO FAR which is one of my auto's in 45ACP I wear the Costco Jeans that are bigger in the legs for my prosthetic and this works great so far.

I have been married to a Glock for almost thirty years; 17, 22-C, and most recently the G-43. The G-43 is relatively small and easy to conceal but still packs a punch with the right ammunition (a few Black Talons that I have horded over the years). This morning I went to the range to do my yearly LEOSA qualifications and the range officer was showing off his new HK-VP-9 SK. If you have read my posts through the years you are aware that I have a perverse relationship and covetous desire for a Kimber Raptor; I am known to **** on truck tires and run in circles, barking and drooling when one is near. That being said, the HK fit my hand like a plastic surgeon had made the fit. I fired six introduction rounds and even not familiar with the gun, shot placement at thirty feet was within 4". Not bad for a 75-year old coot with inner-ear issues. At half the price of a Kimber and twice the sex-appeal of a Glock, the HK is something else. I want one!!!
