When asked, Stan Gozzi head West coast Warranty Rep about the AISIN a few years ago at MayMadness, he said "they don't break".
That is kind of a given.....I would think. That's what they said until they deleted and tuned the Cummins behind it. (in front of it)
OH please tell us why???

Indeed.....and it seems like the G56 models are dialed back the most, based on advertised horsepower and torque ratings.I would think also. Unbreakable is relative, not absolute. Some decided to just (simply) electrinically dial back the torque management to deal with throttle lag/dead pedal( No increase in max torque...not a huge tune/adjustment.)That was enough to do in any of the offered trannies.
I'd much prefer the AISIN for a daily driver then the 68RFe which is a good transmission, but does its, what a call, "Slip and slide from gear to gear", in and out of lock up, rpm flares...AISIN, no flare, runs like a regular old transmission..Mine was a bit rough shifting when new, but after a couple thousand miles of driving, smoothed right out.

In your instance....that is great, as you do not run commercially nor use your truck to pay the bills. I personally could not decline loads based on the towing capacity and GCWR of a G56 truck when compared to the truck I currently own. 5,890 lbs of trailer towing and 6,000 lbs of GCWR goes a lonnnnnnggggggg way for me and my intended use. My AS69RC was paid for after the first 1,078 loaded miles.....and it has been a wonderful investment through my current miles of 342,816. If it falls out tomorrow, it really owes me NOTHING !!! :-lafYeah, but I'll never want to put down the money for that transmission. I like my cheaper tradesman with the caveman style "club" shifter. :-laf

I have almost 53K on my "DailyDriver" Dually with AISIN. Run TH and EB all the time and you will have no issues with drivability. Oh I also tow 33-35K combined with it, what a pleasure!!!
Add "Dually" to your public profile and 2 or 4wd as it helps with getting questions answered!
I just got my 2018 3500 SRW with the Aisin in late December. The ride is a little tougher than my 2500 was as expected as a daily driver. I have to quit running TH and EB when empty because of the violent downshifts. I just run the EB now and it’s much more comfortable to drive. I m wondering if things are different with the 930 FT trq compared to the 2017?
Probably not, he's just the kind that feels "I do it and like it, therefore everyone should". Say it enough times and others begin to think there is a compelling reason other than just that is his preference.
Personally, I always turn the E brake on, and only rarely turn the T/H on when I am not towing.
Just remember, it is just personal preference, nothing more. There are benefits to using the EB more frequently, but T/H is mostly about preference.
I aisins don’t break why so much torque management built into the trucks. Some threads even suggest more throttle lag or dead pedal with aisin than regular transmission.
I bought the aisin based on reputation prior to knowing about the throttle delay issues many are reporting now
