Saturday turned out to be a good experience. Got there early enough for things to cool off, waited, waited some more. Seems like it was the day for everyone to show up late. (LOL)
Anyway, the mechanic is a jolly fellow and let me watch everything and answered questions about things that had been rattling around in my head for awhile. He even let me shoot a few pics of the old and new pumps and gave me a new sealed jug of anti-freeze to boot.

You should have bought him a coffee or cracked open your wallet......

Probably would have but one of the boss's was coming in and out. I'll do my best to catch him next time. Not going to be too long and it's oil change time again. :)

The first dealer I stopped at to get my T-51 recall service done didn't have the part.

So I was successful at leaving it at the second dealer. They will do it tomorrow and I also requested a coolant flush which they say will be $140+ tax.

I had mine completed today. Had a low coolant light as soon as I started the truck. Drove it right back into the service bay and they topped it off. Seems like it took the better part of a gallon. They also did the brake/transmission interlock recall. I have noticed no difference in anything not that I should've I guess.

Stopped in at my dealer today to check on replacement, none currently in stock he said call later in the week. Service advisor said they had already done many trucks. I am in no hurry to get it done will probably check back in next month.

Dealers are being restricted on the number of pumps they are allocated. You'd be better off getting on your dealers list. Going back in a month will find you in the same position as you are today.

FCA, seems to having dealers asking about the number of miles on the truck, and low mile units are being passed over for higher mileage units. Get in the queue now.

it's been about three weeks, since I called to book my appointment...got my call yesterday...going in Friday for the Water Pump and Shift interlock recall.

I was just going to buy a pump and do mine myself. if they ever get around to calling me I will give em the old one and tell em to give me the replacement in a box

That would be interesting, if it worked. I would think they would want to make sure they did the recall, being as it is a recall.

You have been luckier then me. I thought I was on the list about 3 weeks ago. Just talked to them, and whoever put me on the list apparently did not. I was reassured now that I am on the list, but there is 30 ahead of me. Should of got a name the first go around , but at least got a name now . No panic yet , pumps still working :D

No mention of any list thanks for the heads up I will call them and ask them.

Being the nice guy I am, I am dropping mine this afternoon so it's cold in the am for them to start right away.

They are replacing a plastic pad on my running board that developed a chip under warranty.

My rubber donut around inside fan shroud never sealed properly at the bottom replacing under Warranty.

Water pump replacing under warranty. Giving me an extra gallon to top off with since I am heading to Pahrump next day.

Emissions Cat or what ever it's called replacing under warranty.

Adjust hill start under warranty.

Check to see if I need Trans Interlock fixed or not under warranty.

I figured why not save em up!!!
