Will you let your insurance company ride in your vehicle?

Which July 4th will you watch?

We’ve had to disconnect XM for a while as they were just wouldn’t budge, but the magic email came to reactivate. It might have been a month or so.
As a treat, sometimes I plug the phone in and turn on Pandora but I have to watch the data.
My rebuilt 1 factory radio came in yesterday with the aux Jack input. Can’t wait to see how it works.

I just got in. The woods were not a fun place today. 87 degrees and a dew point of 75. I had all I could stand. I told my wife I figured out how XM gets away with their attitude. Ive had it for so long I forgot how awful terrestrial radio has gotten. But it’s my choice and I’m sticking to it. Grunge you say? I could quickly become accustomed to my own warbling rather than suffer that indignation.

When terrestrial radio actually plays a song rather than an ad... The sound quality is night and day over XM.

Want CD quality - play a CD without the MP3 conversation quality loss.

The music selection on XM does give it an advantage. When XM merged with Sirius the Golden Age ended then and there. Now there are 2 duplicate channels brodcasting when seprate they used to have their own flavor of deep tracks vs. top 40 only.

Just saying. And that be the only reason they can still charge for the service is the commercial free music.

I find the sound quality of XM to be as good or better than terrestrial radio. Of course I have the base radio. As for music selection: BINGO! 45 minutes of channel surfing found nothing tolerable to listen to.

2,000 miles now, still no oil consumption. Maybe the tiniest, tiniest fraction of an inch down on the stick from where it was 1,000 miles ago but not sure.

Rerouted the fuel and PCV lines under the hood, whoever put it back together after the "Big" reseal didn't get them back where they belonged so the Beauty Cover didn't fit correctly because of the PCV line and the fuel line was rubbing on the shift cable.....all good now...

New rear air leveling shocks installed, bouncy hoppy motion gone replaced by a smooth steady ride!!!

Once I fix the bad connection on the heated/cooled seat control module that's it, all will be as it should be.

Awww - if that is it, Then what are you gonna work on?!?

Guess it's time for another project?!?
Boat - done
Hoopty2 - (almost) done

hmmm - time for a snowmobile?!? Say an 1972 Sno-Jet?!?

Boat....had a bad spell Sunday.....since I pulled it out of storage this spring it ran like a Swiss watch, didn't even have to touch the throttle lever (hot OR cold)...just bump the key and it was running..UNTIL Sunday afternoon when it resumed the crank for eternity scenario when hot.

Now last weekend I was dragging kids around on the tube and doing figure 8's so I could launch them into the air on the wake...boat slaps pretty hard when you cross the wakes.....I'm thinking that knocked some more crap loose in the fuel tank and now it's in the carb again....

I can remove and field strip that carb in about 10 minutes now after all that practice last year.....:(

Also has a clacking lifter noise but I'm pretty sure that is a loose rocker arm. Going to order (8) new rocker arm nuts and a valve cover gasket tomorrow. I'll pull the valve cover while the carb is off, all of the shift cables hook to the rocker cover which should enhance the fun.....

Mike, does the boat have a racor type water sep/ fuel filter? What carb does it have?

No Racor, just a removable screen that attaches to the lower part of the mechanical fuel pump and then a filter that resides in the inlet of the carb. It's a marine style 2 barrel Rochester as I recall. Choke is 100% 12V actuated where there is no vacuum to it for a pull off. A little strange.....but it's marine so a lot of things are a tad strange on it....o_O

I'm betting it's been even worse yesterday and today!!

Be careful, it's not worth getting sick over......

In early, out by noon. The only problem is still 100% humidity at 8am. Production is about 60%. I need a boat ride. Better yet, the tube if I still had the strength to hold on. I’m gettin too old for this.

Mike,

Day late and $$$ short again for you to come back to the VW TDI darkside. Bug has 369K on it.

What's the name for this Cady gonna be?

Gary
