I don't have a Little Giant but do have a 17' Werner adjustable ladder that I love. Very handy in lots of different situations.

I have one I’ve owned for 25 years. It’s a little heavy but I like it. Even my wife is comfortable using it. Their warranty is second to none. Last year we let a relative borrow it and they broke one of the fittings the air dock attaches to. I called Little Giant customer service expecting to buy the fitting. The young fellow there told me they wouldn’t sell me the fitting because it was riveted to the ladder. After taking the model number he sent me out an entire inner ladder section under warranty for shipping charges alone. After 25 years of use I thought that was outstanding.

Whats driving this is, when I was on a road trip last month, one of the roof vents got a big crack and had to be replaced. Luckily I had an extra cap with me, but no ladder. The rv place I was staying in had one I could borrow so I was OK. But next time I want to bring m own ladder and my 10ft aluminum is too long to carry.
The extra length and adjustability will be of benefit around the house as well.
Are they pretty stable ? Or is that an issue ?

I have been hauling a Little Giant in the Motorhome for almost 2 years. I use it constantly to access the roof, wash the rig or just to clean the windshield. It is also handy around the house. It is more stable than a lot of ladders I have used over the years since the legs flare out at the bottom.

I have the warner version. They are awesome,no way getting a 25year replacement part, so that says alot about the original brand.

If you are working off the ladder for long periods of time the rungs are a little more narrow then normal so I find it does wear you out a little more the next day. Not having a wide step. But really stable, lots of adjustments for stairs.

But.

I also have a 16' werner aluminum ladder 3pc, that is technically a 15' ext, I think a 19' reach, that goes down to a 6' long for storage, fits in the back of the tahoe nicely and is light to carry around. Have the quick click stabilizer which is great. That thing has been really great to use due to its storage size and the lack of a full time 8' bed.

I use one of these, They are in all our Trucks that do Jobsite estimate and inspections, They are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more dangerous but are more convenient, We modify the top rung for safety, But you can use 2 inch insulation pipe and the pipe can be strap to the Velcro for storage... If you decide to get one of this type get the one pictured form Industrial ladder its way better then the on-liner's for sale.

The wife is a professional interior painter. As a result we own two Little Giants and one of the Werner Brand.
Hands down, the Little Giants are better. The Werner is heavier by a noticeable amount which makes it harder for her to handle.
I added the Wheel kit to the larger Little Giant, we also have the extendable aluminum walk plank and the Leg Leveler kit. Excellent products...

Several years ago, I was considering a Little Giant after looking at one of their "info-mercials" where you try it for some low-buck price. When I called in, I never could get the guy to tell me how much the ladder cost if I wanted to keep it. I told him I would buy the ladder--just tell me the total cost. He never would and I never did! That beat anything I ever heard of, until that little socialist ("commie-nist") from Noo Yawk raised the bar. She wouldn't tell how much her "free" medical care was going to cost. LOL

I can’t offer much help with cost. I bought mine from a huckster at the fair. My wife wasn’t exactly pleased at the time. However she has come around.

PBJ. yes, thats the one I saw at costco too. Kinda leaning toward that. The things that make that type of ladder attractive to me are the short storage length and the fact that it is a little taller than my 10 ft ladder when fully extended.
Now I have another question regarding maybe all of these kind of ladders. When fully extended, are they stable ? When in a shorter mode, they have a wide base. But if you extend the bottom, it gets quite a bit narrower. I will have to measure and compare to my 10 ft aluminum.
BTW, it turns out it was a gorilla (not warner) that I saw at home depot. Same price. But they give a 10% discount so it is 17 bucks less. But I am more interested in the better ladder than saving just a few bucks. BTW, the gorilla extends to 17 ft (which is what I initially thought the LG did. Nice, but I probabably dont really need the extra 2 ft.

I havent seen one extended. So does that mean that the narrow portion does not touch the ground ? Im glad I asked the question

There are several short videos and pictures in the Costco link showing the operation. Looks like it would be very stable with the wide base, Fully extended it has an hour glass shape.
