It's funny how some comment on how well their oil is or has done for them same with filters, do any of you have oil analysis to back that up?

Even the oil analysis people say that you shouldn't compare one oil analysis from one truck to one oil analysis from a different truck.

So...... why?

You are in the habit of comparing your oil analysis to your son's truck? But you are really only expected to look at trends and averages for your specific truck. And maybe at averages across many many trucks (more than 2 - 5 trucks)?

"You are in the habit of comparing your oil analysis to your son's truck?"

"Habit" ??? I showed the Blackstone report once of my Son's truck at 30k compared to my truck at 30K both running AMZ/OIL 15-40 for 15k each mine the better quality his the OE.

What I say was my TBN was higher along with flashpoint and better viscosity plus some other items. It was just for a comparison. I think based on the reports the Better quality oil had the better report. So for "ME" that is reason enough to pay the extra.

The reports show what similar engines are doing only at 7k where we ran the full 15 allowed by RAM with BOTH reports very good.

its all cool. since the air filter keeps most of the fine particles out of the engine in the first place, all of the worry about what the oil filter has to catch is typical of what most compulsive oil changers worry about. I have better things to worry about. yall have fun talking it to death

You guys can argue about the oil, but did you look at the filter break down very close? for the most part its made like the Wix and Fleetgaurd, with the exception of the "bar" on the bottom, which is the same configuration that FRAM uses. This bar can get bent straight and allow oil to flow around the filter media and particles are going to get into the flow of oil. Fleetgaurd and Wix use a spring in the bottom to maintain pressure at all times, to avoid oil by pass. This is not good. It looks as though they use a good amount of media for filtering like the two mentioned.

"Any input on the rotella filter, good bad ugly. Its $6.95 at Wally world."

NO NO NO!!!

Buy the Mopar sitting next to it. If you use a sub par filter and have an oil related warranty claim they WILL deny you.
C12V98, been following your posts for months, sorta wondering why you dislike Rotella filters so much.. Do you have and "horror stories" about them to share ?

Sam's Club has Shell Rotella T4 15W-40 on sale right now for $65.88 a case (case has 6 Gallons of oil). That's $10.98 a gallon which is cheaper than what I normally pay.
Rotella T-4 not a synthetic lube, and $11 a gal is no great bargain IMHO.....

This is how they.pay for all those commercials.

I can get milesyn full synthetic on Amazon.com for $16 + change per gallon.

As far as I know I have never specifically mentioned THAT filter, it was part of my quote. If you can prove it's just as good as the FleetGuard/MOPAR filter have at it. But at $6.95 I already know what the answer is. All I know is if RAM sees a filter THEY deem as inferior they WILL deny warranty. This right from the horses mouth at the May Madness Rally in Pahrump, NV.

Your money, your warranty.

Shell Rotella filters likely as good as Mopar. Not as good as fleetguard straropore or donaldson/amsoil. (Opinion)

Rotella oils...... probably as good as mopar oil. Probably not as good as (Or maybe almost as good as) Delo, Delvac, Valvoline, and even a few off brands/unknown brands. (More opinion)

I’ll let experience and mileage say it all: 1.9 million miles with no problems in either truck while ALWAYS using Fleetguard Stratapore filters and Shell Rotella oil (recent years synthetic blend). As always Your Mileage May Vary.
Filters and Oil are Cheap compared to being broken down in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere.

Are you saying the Mopar rebranded FleetGuard is NOT StrataPore?
