I just went WAY back in this forum, and I couldn’t find it. I do remember the post, I participated.

Seriously, I would bring it back, get their blessing, and then do the first oil change early. Cover your butt until she’s run in.

I can't find it...very long thread where a young member bought a new 2018 2500. Seems like there was metal in the oil when he changed it AND seems the engine was noisy. The last I recall, dealer could not find anything wrong with it. I'm pretty sure I wasn't dreaming. I manually looked at every thread back to March.

When we bought the truck it had 11 idle hours and 10 driving hours with only 50 miles

Like the OP, I occasionally hear a slight knocking or pinging sound on my 2018 2500 Cummins.
Not anything like a rod or piston knock, but more like an old car pinging because of bad gas or incorrect ign timing.

Haven't heard it much lately, maybe I'm not paying attention or maybe it is because of the Power Service Cetane Boost I've been adding to every tank full.
