Like many of the trucks up here, it's here for cold weather validation............unfortunately, it's a dry cold and no snow to mess stuff up.
UGLY! Swing and a miss on Ram's part.Like many of the trucks up here, it's here for cold weather validation............unfortunately, it's a dry cold and no snow to mess stuff up.
I very gingerly step on my tailgate now. Nothing like the old ones.Do they give a weight rating to the tailgates? A non rusted 05 tailgate could take 450 lbs on a size 12 boot sole. I would be very wary of doing that with a two piece tailgate.
I hope they keep a standard tailgate as an option. Vehicles are getting too carried away with gimmicks any more.

A good friend told me a story about her brothers new F250, just happened. While on a sledding trip, a passenger unfamiliar with his truck, opened the door in the wind.....wind caught the door and buckled it pretty good. He was p'oed to say the least. I was relieved that I talked myself out of that truck. I wish all the manufacturers would give us more metal and a lot less plastic.I'm half afraid to even stand on the gate of my aluminum Ford. I haven't had any problems with it. But, it is so light, it makes you wonder how strong it it.

2006 ain't exactly old, but I get the point.Hell, the old steel doors did it too! My 2006 F550 on the North Slope had nylon straps installed during PDI/Upfit so the doors don't get ripped off in the wind. They'd go clear around to the front fender with a decent wind blowing.
Stronger than the Tundra's. Guys loading toys with ramps found that out. Junk. I like the new tailgate.I'm half afraid to even stand on the gate of my aluminum Ford. I haven't had any problems with it. But, it is so light, it makes you wonder how strong it it.
