Well then....just remove the valve once it drains....unless your sole purpose for the Fumoto was to avoid the laborious task of removing the drain plug. ;)

I do , I have the first time I drained with the Fumoto, to see how much oil . I may drill holes in the threads ,its an option. My purpose was the ease of draining, removing the plug is no big deal . ;)

The problem I see now, after four drains the gasket was shot, so I had to replace the OE plug. I did send for some extra gaskets, but thats almost like them saying that drain valve is not designed to keep removing or at least the gasket is sure not .

If one plans on using the Fumoto , one of three things, drill holes in the threads, or have extra gaskets, they don't hold up, if taken off, and on .They seem to be a basic gasket material, you put on whatever they go on, and leave it on . Or the third option, for the ones that don't care ,do nothing , no else cares . :p

The only guy here who claims 1/2 a quart left in the pan. What’s the chances it’s the valve vs the operator?

I have let it drain for about an hour ,and I have let it drain overnight, same results. So I will do what I do, and you do what you do. You guessed it I don't care how you do it, and I am sure you don't care how I do it.

Gravity, no matter how long you wait won't let it jump the lip on the threaded portion of the fumoto.

I use the milk pail to control the "FLOOD"

X2; I agree I drop my old oil into a catch can a 5 gallon oil pan that I use. If I just open the drain plug the first gallon would rush out and splatter all over the place. This way I can control where the oil goes and not get an oil bath. After I let this run for a little while I than take my oil sample no fuss and no mess. To me it is easier and less messy with the Fumoto Drain Valve.

Now only if I can figure something out for my fuel filter I would be extremely happy!

I would consider the fumoto and simply remove it after most of the oil has drained to get what may be left. BUT I don't trust people!!!

God forbid I am mentioning I have one in my boat but it's safe to say no one is going to flip it's switch. The truck now that's another story.

That’s not what the photos in the previous thread devoted to quick drains showed. They were of a brand new replacement pan with a Fumoto installed.

I have no idea what you are referring to. MY truck with the fumoto drain valve does not allow ALL the oil to drain, if others are not experiencing that or don’t care so be it . I have drained the oil as said 4 times, the results have been the same each time when I pulled the fumoto out , additional drained out.

I just stand the last oil changes jugs under the valve and pour straight into them using the valve and a little piece of hose. When it's full (Valvoline jugs have the clear level strip on them) I stop the flow and swap jugs. On the last one I leave it dribbling while I do the filter and other things. No extra handling of the used oil this way. No messes or floods.
