There appears to be a bit of controversy over the Trailer Tech Package. The marketing and test videos show the integrated Trailer TPIS, and accessory Mopar Aux Camera, but it appears, according to owners, that trucks with Trailer Tech are not coming with TPIS, or the prep for the camera. Apparently, no clear answer from FCA on this.

That would be upsetting, thinking you're getting something but not really. In playing with the build and price there are a lot of options to really pay attention to so you know what you're getting. A lot of the options I thought would be standard these days but maybe that's their way of keeping the price down on basic work trucks.

I noticed that the 3.42 gear ratio seems to be gone, you're back to 3.73 or 4.10.

When you say TPIS...... Are you talking about the TPIS for the truck. Or are you talking about the TPIS for the trailer????

Is that a brand new function? TPIS for the trailer (which can be programmed to show on the EVIC)??

They are promoting having TPIS for multiple trailers integrated with the truck TPIS.

I have the TPIS feature on my wife's 2019 1500, pretty cool feature. I'll have to look on the window sticker to see how its listed/ packaged.

Looking at RAM build and price site, it shows a "Supplemental Cabin Heater" included with the new 6.7 engine option.

Anyone have any details on that?

Thx

It's an electric grid heater for the HVAC, it's supposed to help with cabin heat while the engine warms up.

Ford has had it for a couple years, and my brother has it on his '17 F-250. He says it helps, but not much.

WOW, A guy would have to ask the question, it will have what impact? if it got (That) hot what happens if debris fines it way to the element ...Flames away ..I'll pass on that option.

I remember when a heater core bigger than a pack of cigarettes was optional on a Ford, and was proudly stamped " HI OUTPUT" on the plenum:D

On vehicles that don't have a cabin air filter, i've heard leaves and debris blowing (tinkling sound) in the dash when the cabin blower/fan motor is put on high

On the 2018 Ford I test drove, it had the rapid heat option. I found that it might work better if you did not have to run the fan on full/ high in order to turn it on. Turning on the rapid heat also turns on the defroster which turns on the Ac system to help dry and clear the windows. It also defeats any heat you get from the heating grid. Good concept poor application

The Pearl White/RV Match Brown is my current "lead horse" in colors. I just wish they didn't force you into painted bumpers. Second choice is Delmonico Red, as it reminds me of Deep Molten Red, which is what my '05 was.

I'm with Todd and am holding out for the non-egr Stage V engine. I am wondering if it will have some type of internal egr like the 06's did??? Expect for the EGR, the Stage V Cummins engine looks like the FPT agricultural engine in the Case Magnum tractors. No egr (external) and all emissions meet with after treatment only. Also has Roller valve rockers and (I assume) CP4. I am not fond of the latter two. But 400/1000 with no egr, that would be great. The other big question is what ECM (for tuning)

Trailer TPIS?
John, I had lost the ball on this a while ago. I only pulled trailer once with my wife's 1500. I assume this TPIS is the look around warning feature. Trailer Merge Assist is listed, but can't find TPIS feature. wifes truck has surround camera and has the radar sonar warning (lookback) for trailer back corners and auto senses trailer length. Truck has all safety, look around cameras and sensors sides, mirrors and back. But, still can't find that feature.

BTW, TMA only works on pull behind trailers, not GN or 5th wheel.

Cheers, Ron
