roof paintless dent repair?

comrades. seems the metal on my 18 2500 roof is thinner than the rest of the truck. dont recall any hail, but i have several dings on the roof now. question is, can the dent repair guys remove dings without removing the headliner? thanks in advance. cheers!

I would think the headliner would need removal.

yes, can be repaired without removing headliner. if they are not bad, on a hot day I've taken dry ice and removed small dents. Just let metal get hot, hold dry ice on drnt and it should pop out. it worked for me.

David, I dont remember, but could try it with thin cloth like ladies scarf first. You can try with ice cubes first.

yep, TX hail fix. I actually did this on a 93 Ram 4x4 that I bought with hail damage. took out some with ice, all but a couple with dry ice.

can't remember where who I learned from, but not a bad non invasive dent fix.

I got caught in a hail storm last year and had several dings on the hood and some on the roof. I called the Dent Dr. and he was able to easily remove the ones on the hood for about $150.00, but said the headliner would have to come down for the roof repair. Being they were so small and out of sight, I choose not to go that route. Plus he wanted $600.00 for that repair.

Give it a try, ice cubes first. can't hurt.

thanks for the replies comrades. i might have some time off at end of the month to take to dent dr.

meanwhile, the whole week is rain and snow, so trying the ice cube will have to wait for a warm day.

nukegm, yep hot metal and very cold ice critical to this working...likely why this is more of a Southern fix. I'd be scared of trying to artificially heat the metal with a heat gun.

Every ram i have purchased has had dents in the roof. Idk, mexican hat dances. Dent dr removes rear dab ligh and fixes dents that way... ice? I never tried that. Cant hurt..
