Hey Charles,
1. What part of your truck is deleted?
2. What are you missing to complete the project?
3. Are there instructions that came with whatever you have to complete the project?
4. Is Blackjack a programmer?

Happy to hear "the rest of the story" on what you have and what you want to do.

Cheers, Ron

The Black Max was installed in 2010. EGR cooler still installed on the truck. I have deleted the stock exhaust with a 5" straight exhaust front to back.

So the truck has 110k miles. With no support from HS. What to do with Black Max? Options? Or do I run it till I have problems?

I would continue to run it. You've gone this long without problems, so nothing is imminent to go wrong. I wouldn't have your truck flashed; that's the about the only thing I could see that could mess you up. I don't know anyone with Blackjack products, but if you ever did have a problem, you could address at tha time.

I have performed power enhancements on 1st through 4th Gen Ram Cummins trucks, including a full delete on an 09 Ram 4500 6.7L with no problems on any of them. If you've been trouble free since 2010, I'd say your setup is reliable.

If you want to get rid of the black max for something else there are EFI live tuners that can give you a delete tune. The EFI live tunes are a bit cleaner usually but unless your black max has died not much reason to switch.

Is this a reason not to delete? I'vr sort of kept delete in the back of my mind for awhile. Maybe i'll put it farther back in my mind?

If these companies continue to get fined, they will go out if business one at a time.

I think a lot on whether to delete or not is how you use your truck and how much you can do maintenance on it. A lot of dealers won't work on a deleted truck and it can be a gamble going to diesel speed shops.

I had a 2009 Ram 4500 I purchased for heavy towing of our 18K Lb 5er. I programmed it with a Mads Smarty adding 90HP within a few months of purchasing it then completely deleted it in 2010 and ran it deleted until 2016. Got to thinking what would happen if I broke down or if I got stopped in another state and had a spot inspection. I reinstalled the EGR and DPF and truck performed great fully emission compliant.

Before selling my Mads Smarty and EGR delete kit, I thought for about 30 seconds buying a used 2012 reg cab Ram and making a hot rod out of it. But no, those days are gone. I sold the best hot rod 2003 Ram 2500 QC SB 4x4 ever to my neice. Now, just my wifes hot rod stock 1500, my 5500 with 60 HP added, and my Wrangler with 15HP added.

So short answer: I would fully delete and hot rod a Ram Cummins truck if just mostly used locally.

Cheers, Ron
