Well, it's sort of old news, as there was video of Ram personnel stating there was no torque management. I guess we're all skeptical, but nobody has disproved it, so...

On the Lie-O-Meter, I can only say that I have watched a couple video reviews so far where they checked MPG, and hand calc was darn close to the EVIC. That would be something new, for sure. In a few weeks, I will be able to start testing that premise.

On my 2018 the Lie-O-meter is pretty close on flat running like you get from Holbrook AZ to Albuquerque, only off by about .2 mpg. On mixed terrain like Amarillo to Albuquerque it was off by 10-15% for the tank.

The main thing is how many miles they are doing the running average calculation on. I don't believe it is from last reset, I'm thinking it is the last 50mile or so so it will have trouble matching the hand calculated tank mileage.

I had a Jeep Cherokee that had a 3.2 v6 with a 9 speed auto, only got into 9th gear once in 2 yrs, and then I was going 95 mph, rpms were too low for it to shift, so an 8 speed would have worked fine.

I will have to rewatch the video, i thought he said a GM engineer said there was no TM in the chevy

They put a trans in it that can handle it. That's the reason they went from 23k towing to 35k.

So they will be reflashing our trucks and releasing the 865 tq and 385 hp full boat from a standing start, I can hardly wait. Driving it rain will become a test of skill.

I had a BOMBED 03 2500 4x4 QC SB that was putting 450HP/900TQ with rebuilt trans that the only TQ mgt was my right foot. And yes, light foot in the rain/snow. BTW, even with no TQ mgt, the new trucks still hit 1000 LB FT TQ at 1800 RPM.

We'll see how folks who ACTUALLY buy them and drive them like them. Looking forward to it and the heavy hauling drag races on the horizon.

Back in the day, my 2001 24-Valve did 450 HP and 970 lb/ft tq to the ground on Dave Dunbar's Dyno. Pretty much unable to run it on the street at that power level in anything other than perfect weather conditions and in a strait line. As any of us that have had even mildly modded diesels over the years can attest, those things are downright wicked in there power delivery. I highly doubt that these new trucks will come with absolutely no form of torque management. Maybe it will be less obtrusive and referred to by another name, but something almost has to be in place.

With 4.10s and Aisin's low first gear they will blow by 1800 RPMs almost as quickly as they would with the truck in neutral.
