I do 4500 mile intervals on oil, using rotelle 15/40, and fleetgood filters, always. This oil change appeared blacker/more dirty. 100 degrees daily, last 2-months. Can those ambient temperatures cause dirtier oil ? Daily driver, minimum 24- miles/day, some days 60-miles. Haul no more than 400lbs. About 3-Times/ week.
Thank you to all who read, and respond. Blessings to everyone, Patrick

Your putting pasta in your crank case???? :O

LOL!! Funny how one character completely changes the meaning. ;)

Possible, if the air is bad enough you get more soot in the cylinder and eventually in the oil from the incomplete combustion.

The oil change indicator on my brothers 6.7 Furd will really shorten the oil life with high ambient temps, so it's possible.

You should run a UOA, as you are likely dumping good oil at 4,500 miles.

My daily driven first gen, albeit overfilled, with 10k mile oil/filter changes, neither has dirty oil nor uses any oil between changes.

Good air filtration & clean ring packs are key, along with proper AFC tuning.
