HAAAAAA , I love these posts.
Wouldn’t it be better to ask before buying???

ok now that I have given you a bad time! I think 2015 is one of the most dependable years.
I had something go bad with a console light and a front seal. That’s it in 70k other than the recalls.

Check with your local dealer to make sure all updates and recalls have been done.

Congrats!

Thanks for the quick response! You are correct, but this was an emotional buy, I thought there was a problem with the DEF system, may have been from a different year!

How many miles on it now? Do you live where emissions tesitng is a must? What transmission?

Any history on truck maintenance? Do you get an extended warranty?

DEF has an expected life time of about 100k, give or take. If the DEF system takes a dump it can destroy to the DPF and catalyst.

Auto transmission has some flaky plastic parts that can cause issue. Abuse of the transmission; burnouts, rocking when stuck, etc., is guaranteed to drain your wallet a good chunk.

HG issues still exist, especially not doing tuning correctly. HE3512VE is the redheaded step child on the IS series Cummins engines, likes to clog with soot from EGR and stoich rich tuning.

Most all the common problems are manageable if you know about them and do not tweak things to far off stock.

Just purchased a 2015 RAM, Are there any known problems I should watch for?
As far as "known" problems: at least a half dozen recalls, plus leaking 3rd brake light.
I also had the large info display system replaced when a month old, replaced batteries this summer (about 2 years less then what I usually get) and currently have a leaking right rear axle seal.
I also get the "service 4wd" light come on for a few minutes about once a year.

Overall a good truck. Of the 68,000 miles on it, I have towed an 11k 5th wheel about 50k miles.

I thought the plastic in the transmission was only in the 1500. Guess i was wrong

As long as i keep an eye on the temps and keep the CCV filter changed, i don't expect any HG issues in my derated 660 ft lb stock truck

Head gasket issues? We are talking about a RAM with the Cummins and not a Ford right. I just read the posts here and can’t think of very many head gasket issues with stock trucks....

Lose an injector and see how long the HG lasts with extended cylinder pressures, stock or not. Disconnect the EGR and use it hard, it has some detrimental effects. Then there is the grid heater burning the mounting bolt off and dropping it into a cylinder.

Like I said, the more one knows the further ahead they are.

I thought the grid heater was supposed to cycle on and off on and off..... So that it doesn't cause any heat damage in bolts or manifold.

Sure, it cycles on and off for up to 5 minutes on a cold start. Now, we know how many amps it draws, think about what happens to a ground connection that has been compromised having that many amps thru it. All that is compounded by the EGR dumping back to the manifold and leaving somewhat caustic traces all over the grid and its connections. Already been a couple updates to the grid and still see some of the newer trucks having issues as they age.
