Windows roll down when doors are unlocked?

I understand the windows are designed to roll down when the unlock button on the remote is held down. My problem is that I often return to my truck and find the windows down. I assume that the button on the remote is accidently pressed causing the doors to unlock and the windows to roll down. I wonder if it is possible for some outside radio signal interference to cause this.

Is there a way to cancel this feature?

My 09 Challenger use to roll the windows down if I hit the unlock button twice. Just a thought. Never tried it on the new truck.

Its software app where you can use it with a OBD2 reader. I think the paid version is $49, and the readers vary from low end to like $90 on the high end. So for around $150 you can DIY a lot of features.

There is a DEMO version of AlphaOBD, not sure what it allows?

Can this be disabled in the EVIC settings menu (dashboard readouts)? Have you dug thru those, sometimes there are some basic stuff that you can do like the approach lighting and the sort can be turned off? Maybe you get a break.

At the same time basic software changes at the dealer have cost me about $189 to like enable a rear view camera or stuff like that, just to use for reference give them a call and they will tell you what the basic charge is for this.

I found an Alpha demo that suggested that an OBD device, which is plugged into the OBD socket, could be purchased. That device could then make many changes to the vehicle's functions from an APP found on Google Play. I had no luck searching for a device that would work with my truck. At Google Play I found dozens of apps but none for the Dodge (Ram) truck.

I researched the EVIC settings and found that this feature is not addressed there.

Any suggestions?

If this is a new issue I highly doubt it has anything to do with the"global down" feature.

But you could test it with your key fob. Press unlock, then release and press and hold unlock. See if the windows roll down.

This is not a new issue. Yes the windows do roll down when the unlock is pressed a second time or is held down. The doors were programmed to unlock all four with one click. Today I reset the doors to unlock only the drivers door on the first click in hope that an accidental bump of the button will only unlock the doors and will not be held long enough to open the windows. I cannot carry the key fob in my pocket without this happening and even when I carry it on a belt loop with a carabiner I often find the windows partly open when I return to the truck.

Fortunately rain in this part of the country is rare but in the winter months I am afraid of finding the upholstery soaked. Durring the summer months it is only dust to clean out.

You should be able to disable it with AlfaOBD and a OBDII connection.

In view of what I have learned here I have no doubt that I could disable that function if I could find the proper software and the necessary device with which to do it. Any suggestions?

My two key fobs are functioning as advertised but seem to be overly sensitive to inadvertent contact. I believe that my only relief will be the disabling of that function.

I use a WiFi OBDII reader from BAFX and the AlfaOBD program on my PC. I am into it about $75.

I've used the cheap EL327 based scanners and they work for some functions. The OBDLink® MX Bluetooth works for all the functions.

That one I listed will work with an Android on WiFi too.

But any OBDII reader should work if it's EL327 based. I haven't seen any limitations with my cheap one.

Thats the good one we always recommend. Does everything together with Alfa OBD.
Cost around 70-80$ and well worth.
