Welllllllllllllll I guess no takers on the question yeah since I'm hauling RVs I got to sleep in my truck and I'm trying to figure out how much fuel it will use if I sleep in the truck 8 hours would it run and obviously with the heat on I like eat eat good in summer air condition good too??????

Anything over 10 minutes is considered excessive, so if you’re going to have an extended idle then I would bump the rpms up to 1100. Leave the EB on if it’s cold, and a winter front wouldn’t hurt.

You will likely burn .3-.5 GPH. Who knows what it will do if it needs a regen in the 8 hour span thou. Likely go into a stationary regen and change the idle rpms for it.

My Trucks at home had a sophisticated EVIC, as soon as the Truck came to a stop the indicator switched from MPG to GPH. And the engine, twice the size of the Rams, consumed around .25ga without load and .5ga with the Aircon on high.

That's a lot of idling on a modern common rail. Fuel system wouldn't be covered by warranty once they see the idle hours. High idle no longer stops the idle counter like back in the day. Maybe use an apu unit like semi trucks do?

Exhaust brake would only stay on till 170F. Or cycle if the coolant doesn't stay above 170F.

No, if you manually set the exhaust brake to on it will stay on until you shut the EB off. At least on my truck I can hit the EB and raise the high idle to 1,500 RPM'S if I want to. I have done this in the summer when My wife is in the truck with the A/C on and I have gone into pay for my fuel.

Mine not, at idle or high idle the temp needs to be below 170F for the EB to stay on.

My guess is that a 2020 acts the same for emissions reasons.

Hey guys I was just at the AutoZone here in Danville Virginia and they had a Shell rotella oil filter for the 6-7 Cummins is this a good oil filter I also looked at the Shell rotella t6 and they are $22.99 a gallon so that's a pretty good price and I'll probably get the oil change soon but yeah let me know if this Shell rotella oil filters any good guys let me know please thank you??????

I doubt Shell actually makes them. Probably a rebadged Wix or Fram. Your not going to find any better advice than what's already been given. Donaldson is the best filter available followed by Fleetguard. If your shopping on price point alone, have at it.

That’s not something I’ve seen on a CTD yet. The EB will shutoff when ECT reaches a certain temp, even if it’s selected in.

180°F is where it shutoff on my 5.9, and I haven’t messed with the 6.7 enough but I know it won’t be engaged at 190°F.
