I wasn’t shopping for a truck with the 5er group but mine has it. Now that I’ve used it I wouldn’t want it any other way.

I haven’t used the GN portion of it yet thou, just the 5er picks. B&W claims the OE GN hitches, all of them, are too sloppy but they are the only ones I’ve heard make that claim.

If I didn’t gave the OE prep group and wanted a 5th wheel hitch I’d add the OE pucks.

If I didn’t gave the OE prep group and wanted a GN hitch I’d add the B&W. I think it’s cleaner for safety chains, and the OE GN requires the 5er pucks for chains too.

There is simply no way to connect a fifth hitch more rigid to a Ram chassis then with the pucks. Period.

UH, like this???

Probably no better set up, if you are towing 20,000 lbs. But for us mere mortals in the 10,000 lb neighbor hood, unnecessary overkill that comes with four extra holes.....that and the fact the ram puck system was just a wet dream back in 2014 when I bought my "unknown to me I bought a lemon trucK".......besides, if my 5er hitch mounts to the same GN that your BFF Brockman:D uses to tow his train car sized loads, I'm sure I'll be fine going down the road......

I’m in the mere 10K realm and after having towed with a puck system and a B&W GN Companion I can tell you the difference is noticeable. Four holes are well worth the fact that nothing touches the bed, 100% of the load and forces are sent directly to the frame.

Both are great systems, pucks are just better.

It would be nicer if they made an effort to have the pucks centered in the holes:rolleyes:

That’s why the bed is adjustable to a degree. Mine is off about 3/4 of an inch to the drivers side. I leave it that way just to get under the skin of an acquaintance who’s driven to distraction by it.
