Body shop messed up this belt strip and I want to replace it. There's a screw at the left end but I dont know how to get the rest of it off. It's discontinued (according to dealer, who didn't give me a P/N) so I need to pull one form the salvage yard. Problem is, I don't know what all I need to get. Is the bottom strip connected to the radius at the right side? How is it removed?

Thanks for any and all advice.
Scott

If you have one you'd like to sell, please contact me.

If it’s like the same piece on my ‘98 it just pulls off, straight up. Mine doesn’t have a screw in it, though.

You might contact “odieub”, he’s a member here. His name’s Brett. Also, Mark Nixon has a lot of 3rd Gen parts, 402-780-5127.

Thank you very much gentlemen!!
But this just keeps getting better...
It turns out Dodge must have hated this part and rediseigned it. They actually changed it for the 2003 model year, from the design they used on the 2002 1500 quad cabs (first 3rd gens). My truck is a very early build (aug 2002) and they used the 2002 doors on it. I have looked at a bunch of used 2003 & 2004 trucks for sale and they all have the newer style, squared off corners. Only 2002 quads have my doors so they must have just used up what they had before the switch.
I'm glad this isn't a flight critical part!

Oh and quad cabs are hard to come by. The local Pick and Pull said they dont have any 2002~2009 quad cabs within 100 miles.

Likely won't work but I might have the newer style on the shelf NIB. My 2003 was square corner though. Never got around to them and the goal was redoing the felt for the scratched tinted windows TSB.

Thanks for the offer but the door itself is different so the newer ones wont fit. Dodge must have had some huge reason for going to all the work to make this tiny change!

Thanks again, I appreciate the effort.

Just because I had already written the P/N down... I have the following:

2 each
55276896AF WEATHERSTRIP-DOOR BELT
55276895AF SEAL-REAR DOOR.

I wish I had asked about that. I think junk yards have sales where you can get a door for $50~$75 but from what they tell me, quad cabs are hard to keep in stock. Not sure what people do with them but they dont last long in the yard.

That's really weird because the quad cans have been the most sold unit, right?

All go to Mexico after their useful first life..
Have seen massive Yards full of them in the El Paso area close to the border..
I really mean massive, one dealer after another for miles just stocking export vehicles and parts.
