Rubber fuel lines on 1997 dodge cummins

I recently competed a LOT of work to my 01 3500. Now, I can't get it to start. I cracked the banjo line and had fuel at the VP44, then cracked injector 3 & 4, fuel going everywhere. Closed everything up and crank...it'll catch but not run. Gauges showing 200 rpm and wait to start light works. I can faintly smell stuff burning off, but it's not staying running. I did have the VP out to do the tappet cover gasket, but I replaced the VP44 with the timing marks lined up and keyway in the right direction, etc. When I first got everything back together, the lift pump wasn't priming. Had no power at the harness connector, so I removed the extension section and plugged straight in to the LP. Started priming right away with key on. Do I need to crack more than two lines maybe, or bleed more? Fuel was pouring out of 3 & 4 and down the back of the block. Maybe there's more air in there though?

Is there any way a crank sensor or something is bad? I don't want to throw parts at it, but I'm having a hard time seeing what would cause this outside of fuel.

The only code I'm showing on the odometer is P1693, which I understand can't exist by itself. On the gauges, it shows P1693, then P done. Nothing in E. Nothing on my bidirectional code reader, either.

Did the following relevant to the engine:
-Head gasket/studs
-All other gaskets
-Valve adjust
-Front/rear main
-New Valair Clutch

One other thing of note is that I have an Edge EZ. That'll be getting unplugged tomorrow, but it ran fine with it before the work.

How long does it usually take to bleed these? Is two lines sufficient? I believed I read that it was because it used two injectors off of separate lines.

The last one I had the head off took quite awhile to get the system bled . I would crack all 6 lines and bleed it again and see what happens

Will one of these fire off on 2 cylinders if I got the air out of them? That's the only thing that's concerns me about this. It's turning over enough to where I'm catching the bendix into spinning flywheel teeth but no starting. I'm charging my batteries so I can go again tomorrow. I believe the fsm mentions cranking for 30 seconds, which seemed like an incredibly long time.

I would turn the key on off on off on off 3 times letting the gauges come to life each time and check codes . If you had the pump off you need to bleed all 6 lines

I'll crack the rest open tonight and try again, thanks.

Did the dash trick yesterday and it showed the P1693 code, but no accompanying codes. My scanner showed no codes at all.

Leave #2 and #6 tight, #2 can't be left open with the air intake in place (at least not easily). With 1, 3, 4, 5 open, crank, you should eventually get fuel out of these lines, once you start getting a decent amount of fuel out of one of those lines, tighten it, and then repeat, until you get fuel out of at least 3 of these. It will start, but will run like crap.

You might need to put a little air pressure in the fuel tank (very little, don't rupture the tank), stuff an airline and a rag down the fuel fill tank, and apply like 1-2 psi of pressure, it will help push the fuel up.

The VP44 could be dead, but you will see a 0236 or 1689 code if I remember correctly for this.
The lift pump should cycle for 15 seconds after bumping the starter, you will hear it run (unless it is dead).

Got her fired up and put on 50 miles, thanks fellas. FSM says to open 3 and 4 I believe, but I really needed to open all but the two I couldn't get to like rkressg said. Ran like **** for about 10 seconds then came to life.

Oil pressure came right up. Couldn't get any without cranking over with fuel system on.
