Not sure why this would be a recall. You can turn the 10 second backup camera delay on and off in your settings.

And it turns off at 8 mph.

That setting is available even with our 2015. I turned the delay on and tried it, did not like it and turned it back off.

My 2019 has a glitch sometimes it say camera not available. Blank screen when in reverse, also when I hit the switch
for all ,camera not available. Mainly when its cold outside, under 45. But later in the day it works fine.

On my 14 I installed my own backup camera and wired it to the radio instead of purchasing the new rear view mirror. It's been a few years but as I recall it was just sending the camera input to the radio.

Was it the OEM camera in the tailgate handle or an aftermarket camera?

I purchased the OEM camera and the short harness inside the tailgate. I made up the harness from tailgate to body connector near the firewall. Made up wiring inside truck to radio.
