I have 2006 2500 QC, 4x4 with Issopro pillar pod. The EGT would read between 650-800 (no load) on average at highway speeds and about 300-400 at idle.

I noticed lately it now reads at about a 100 or 200 at idle and then at highway speeds it will not go above 3 or 400? Any idea what is wrong? Thermocouple bad? Need new gage? I installed the gouges in 06 when I bought it, worked fine all these years.

I had issues with mine years ago. It ended up being a bad connection in the thermocouple. The wires need to be really clean. Stripping off the insulation is not enough. Wire underneath the insulation has a coating on it.

I imagine you have the old version like mine which came with solid wire (2 wire). Their new has an amplifier (make something simple into a science project). I ordered a new cable from ISSPRO and it now comes stranded as solid is not good with vibrations and all is well again. I would imagine at least one of the conductors is damaged somewhere between the gauge and thermo so it is probably best just to replace the wire.

Thermocouple has two wires that have an all weather male plug goes into a all weather female plug. The wire then goes into cab. So buy a Thermocouple or wire from the female to the gauge.
