Fiat Chrysler?

Does PACCAR manufacture their own engines now? I know at one time they were heavily influenced with Cummins hardware.
Interestingly we've got a 2015 Komatsu wheel loader with a PACCAR engine with lots of Fleetgaurd hardware. Air cleaner housing and CCV filter specifically. The engine looks identical to the QSB 6.7's in our cranes right down to the valve covers and ID tags on the gear covers.

We have circa 2003 Komatsu WA380 FEL’s and they have QSB 5.9 (rear gear drive) in ‘em. Engine is tagged Komatsu.

Its always seemed odd to me that PACCAR would go to such lengths to "brand" an engine rather than just stuff a Cummins in it like most everyone else does and enjoy the notoriety.

Everybody wants to keep things proprietary. Even CAT was labeling Perkapillars before they bought Perkins.

There’s a Cataperk 1000 in that enclosure. They’re okay.

Spoke to someone who works for PacCar in Burlington, WA at their testing facility. Yes they have their own engine and transmission.
