No start

Tried to start my truck this morning, and after getting the wait to start message only got a clunk. The gauges went to zero, and the display went black. AAA jump start did not change anything, still no start. Any input is greatly appreciated.

OE batteries?
You’ll need to have BOTH batteries load tested individually.

Thanks, I will be doing that next, because these are OE batteries. The truck started fine last night, could they give up that quickly?

O'Reilly Auto Parts Sierra Vista AZ load tested batteries and they both tested bad. Replaced with AGM's, cranked over and started. Thanks for the assist, glad you all are out there.

Something I have learned from my truck over the years is that when the ABS light randomly comes on and off, my passenger battery is bad and needs replaced. I usually just replace them both but its only happened twice in the 9 years owning my truck. Just my .02

Randomrunner, I have had the Service Braking System message flash a number of times over the past months. Is that what you see when the passenger battery goes bad?

It did once on me, mine is more just the ABS light come on and off. Wouldn't hurt to drop by the local parts house and get them to test your batteries.

Did drop by O'Reilly two days ago, 2 bad batteries, 2 new installed. Hard to believe both gave up on the same day...........

One battery probably died a little quicker than the other battery. The remaining battery had to then “pick up the slack” and subsequently became overburdened with the task of doing what two batteries worth of work required.
