I would not drive it, suck out the DEF tank, clean, and refill. That should alleviate any issues.

Doubt it will damage the injector but very likely could damage the SCR cat or the rear NOx sensor, possibly the DEF pump.
Definitely need to drain and flush out the DEF tank and injector line.

It can cause the DEF to gel and cause all sorts of problems. Sometimes. Many times. Most times.

At the very least, you need to pull the tank and rinse it, IMO. Soon. Distilled water will work for the rinse cycle.

I just deleted mine and put the EPA on my Christmas Card list.

I hope you didn't start the engine nor switched on ignition after that happened..

Get it out of there ASAP. It will ruin the pump/heater/level sender. Hopefully you have not started it or turned on the key. When you key on it purges the air out of the lines so you will send it through the system pretty quickly.

Well I have filled and drained the tank from the filler tube five times and then sucked out the tank with a shop vacuum without removing the tank,the truck hasn't been started but I am still afraid to start it.are there any additives I can put in the tank to absorb the oil film? Thanks.

You really need to just pull the tank and clean it correctly with soap and water. They make test strips that detect hydrocarbons. I used to carry them when I was still working and suspected a contaminated DEF tank.

I'm not a mechanic, so it looks like a big job to remove the tank,could I put dish soap and fill and drain again, I'm working in my driveway. Thanks.

No you can not- that thing needs to be Clean-Clean, not sort of somewhat cleaned.
That tank needs to be removed, thoroughly cleaned and dried.
There is no work around for this procedure.

Haven't seen any.
You will have to pull the crossmember and cover I believe, filler pipe just clamps on.

Try YouTube to see if there's a how to on removing it. A lot of serious deleters out there remove all the emissions related part. I searched and see several videos.

If you think pulling the tank is a big job, you definitely don’t want to tackle deleting.
