TPMS Reset after tire rotation

Sorry that hadn't seen that you had already replaced switch. On the wiring diagram on my truck, there is switch, motor and relays. There are 3 connections going to the BCM. They are wiper park sense - wiper high/low relay control - wiper on/off relay control. Hope this con help in the search to find out what has happened. Good luck.

Ozy stated in Post #9 that "All CAN now." Besides triggering in my mind John Lennon saying "number nine...number nine...number nine..." over and over (Beatles White album, Revolution Number 9) It would "appear" the BCM may be the magic processing point for the intermittent timing of the wipers.
With that said, one other item popped up in my head. Does your truck have the "rain sensitive wipers"? Probably not if you are getting a wiper pass at each intermittent switch setting, but thought I'd ask anyway.

The delay wipers are now working!

I have the OBD MX+ scan tool and used the Alpha OBD app. Let me just say, everyone should have these 2 items. The Alpha app gains you access to some parameters that only the techs have access to.

I was able to look into the BCM (Body Control Module) and then look into "Car Configuration". I saw a parameter called "Auto Wiper" and it told me it was set to enable. My truck doesn't have auto wiper sensing. So I turned it off. Long and behold, the delay feature is working again. Not really sure how and why this got changed or doesn't even make a difference, but it worked for me.

I also found that my tire size was wrong as well. I'm still working on my Fan Clutch issue.

@Oil Stain , Glad to hear you got them working! Do you have a config file saved for the settings? Good idea to have one saved to look at or print out to look over settings and keep track of what you have changed. I've got one printed as soon as I got Alfa and print one out as soon as I change something. Is very helpful when something stops working or you get back from dealer and things have been reset! AlfaOBD is a great tool for our trucks!

I didn't know you could do a print out. I will look into that! Thanks Topzide.

@Oil Stain , Sure can, just save the config file to your device, then pull it up and print it out! It will use quite a bit of paper, but well worth it for reference. I high lite the changes that I've made with Alfa. Makes finding changes much easier and what changes that can be made. love the fact that I've been able to program a couple extra FOBIK's and not have the TPMS system yelling at me about the pressures that I'm running. Hoping that I might be able to come across a higher trim level cluster to have more gauges available without having to have the EVIC display them. I like the fuel economy gauge to see what I can get it to show! I turn it on in DW car and see hates it. It's like a video game for me! BTW, nice info to look for if wiper delay stops working. This forum is such a help and money saver!

Okay, what am I missing. Couldn't find how to save config file. I looked all over.

@Oil Stain , When you are connect to let's say the body control module, you click on the battery icon then click read system id. That will generate the config file for the BCM. You can do for all modules to see the settings. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Okay, I had to go into my phones hard drive and found it there. You were correct, many pages of info. Good thing I have XL print cartridges!
Well, thats a wrap on the wiper delay repair. Thanks to all, for your help!

Now turn the auto wiper back on and see if that still disables the delay. Sometimes the component failure resets things in the computers, that option on\off or something else that interferes. The 3rd gens were bad enough, the 4th gens are terrible with oddities happening. Delay is in the wiper motor assembly and if shorts out it can back feed and reset pids.

I understand

Ok, I enabled the auto wiper, the wiper delay stopped working. I turned it off and the delay started working. Go figure.
I replaced the turn signal/wiper level first with no luck. Last week replaced the wiper motor, still didn't work. Upon seeing this auto wiper setting in the Alpha app, that fixed it. So, I'm guessing the old parts are still good.

Well I will say that the new wiper motor is quieter than the old unit. At least I gained something.

The intermittent wiper variable zone of the switch operates differently in the two operational modes. The intermittent mode provides a varied timed delay for the wiper operation where the "automatic" rain sensitive wiper mode sets sensitivity of wiper activation. The automatic feature not only adjusts wiper "timing" for the quantity of detected rain, but will adjust the wiper from variable intermittent to slow speed and if detected, high speed operation; and can bet set to turn on the headlights when activated by sensing rain. I personally like the rain sensitive feature. As with the automatic high beam feature, they are not without their issues. It still requires the "driver responsibility". No Tesla "Autopilot" here, or anywhere while driving. Like a pilot, the driver is the responsible interactive systems manager.

Possibly the old parts are good, or not. If nothing else had been done to the truck then that item somehow got flipped to its setting that interferes. Could be the old items doing something to cause it, or, something else entirely. It works now, that positive. If the delay quits working again for no obvious reason then you have something to track.
