All the test trucks caught in this article have a mirror design that matches what Ford - and more recently, GM - have had for a while. The Ford and GM mirror designs allow the arm to extend manually or electrically, while the Ram mirrors could only be pivoted manually to their tow position. This new Ram mirror looks like they will finally join the club and have telescoping mirror arms, most likely with the electric option.

Hope fully there will be a better tow mirror than what we have now, I never turn them in (down?) since I hate how the mirror sits in that position. Now if they will just get rid of the silly knob for the transmission on the 8 speeds.

Your sig mentions you added Boost tow mirrors, so that tells me it may have been "broken", no? :)
No, my truck even thought it's a heavy duty 2500 came with the sport mirrors. It was almost a deal breaker because they (the dealership) said they couldn't install the OEM tow mirrors because the controls that adjust the mirrors would work opposite. I don't remember when in the tow position or any position. So with that being said I ordered the Boost mirrors and had the sales code enabled for the turn signals and puddle lights. They work as they should.

Gotcha. I vaguely recall that claim about the wiring when trying to swap OEM mirrors.

If it's not broken don't fix it. That's my opinion.

They are definitely not broken ,but after towing for several years with a Ford Superduty , the Ram were a bit of let down . In the tow position they are okay with that spot mirror at the bottom like the Ford , but when not towing the spot mirror is on the side . To me that was distracting ,I have gotten used to it over time ,but preferred the way the Ford mirrors were .

It will be interesting to see the opinions when they come out .

I hate the Ford mirrors.

I also think the 3rd Gen convex mirror was better than the 4th Gen, but now that the convex is also power that may change my opinion of them.

I came out of a second gen and it took me a little while to get used to the forth gen mirrors when not in the tow mode. They appeared busy to me. But now all good I'm used to them.
