Good afternoon all!!

2021 2500, 4WD, 14k Miles.

My calculated mileage on the dash is consistently 3-4mpg higher than actual....and occasionally 5-6 higher when towing a heavy load. It has been this way from mile 0. I am averaging per tank 19-22 MPG hand calculated depending on route, speed, location, etc....but the calculated mileage on the screen reads 22-26. Anybody else have this issue?

Wow....they both seem high. I compared my gauge to hand calculation once when it was new....the gauge was within 1 mpg. Per the gauge, I normally get between 15-16 unloaded. Loaded, varies with my load, route and wind, but usually somewhere between 11-13 mpg.

75-80 interstate travel, hand calculated is 19.5 to 20. 55-60mph hand calculates to 22 to 23 occasionally. Hand calculated mileage has been inching up since the truck was new. I just don't understand why the dash is so far off. My last yrs hunting trip to/from colorado, pulling a 16' trailer, with about 5k of supplies, 2400 miles round trip, yielded a calculated 11.2mpg. Dash showed 17.

Mine is generally up to about 10% on the optimistic side. It'll say 11 when I get ~10... or it'll say 17 when I am getting 15~16... so the higher the mileage the higher the error.

My average error is 7% optimistic, but it varies.

I’ve had 5 tanks in 43K miles go above 15% error with 20% being the worst.

I’ve had 7 tanks where the EVIC was lower, as low as 8.9%.

But for the most part 10% is a good guesstimate while driving and usually I get a little better than that.

Attached is my latest fuel mileage, I was shocked to see Hand Calculated mileage number at 18.48 when EVIC read 19.4 when I filled but was at 19.5 at the house 4 miles before I filled it back up, did not think these new truck got fuel mileage this good being my first combo with city was 13.6. Oh these miles were 90% Hwy 10% city driving, Hwy speeds between 55 & 70 MPH. Will see how it does this weekend when I take a one day short 230+ mile road trip.

yeah,.. highway mileage is pretty good under 65,.. But here in NC where 80 is keeping up,.. It gets about 16. still better than my 04 in those conditions.

yep... and I tow at speed...... get another hundred or two miles in a day farther, fuel cost is not that much difference. 55~65 in South Dakota, WY, or MT would be a long day.

Looking forward to being retired... Hope we can still have the finances and freedom when that time comes to use out RV and see more of North America....
