The truck is home with a new CP3 from the 2021+!!!

So far they engine is much quieter and smoother!

Mileage is going up from 16.3 and will take time for a good average

The work was done very professionally with no leaked fuel anywhere.

Even the wire harness, that had to be relocated from the CP4 to CP3 was done professionally!

I’ve seen this dealer perform 1/2 arsed jobs in the past, but this , at least appears to be a work of art.

I couldn’t be happier unless .99 cents a gallon fuel came back!

I don’t usually praise the dealer, but this time it seems to be worthy of “Kudos< good Job”!

True, but in normal conversation, the old reliable CP3 seems to be the most commonly used nomenclature.

truck sound and “feels” different.
They obviously had to flash the cpm, but I also asked to have the tpm reflashed in an effort to eliminate the 2-1 slam shift.

average mileage continues to rise, but with the price of fuel, I’m a lot easier on the GO pedal.

Let’s Go Brandon!

Thanks John.
You work for Ram, Cummins, or Bosch?

anyway I guess that means I have an CP-ISB20 to be precise, but I assume it’s identical to the current pumps for 2021-2022, maybe 2023.
I was curious as to why they needed to supply the CP-4 s/n to star before the parts would be released.

could the installation “kits” be different from 19-20?

Thanks John.

Ha, ha - no, I retired from AT&T in 1989
I don't know if the pumps are different for any year. I assume the pumps are the same but the PCM flash may be different, but maybe not.

Reading on the RAM board, one of the posts said a dealer had told him (last week) the recall was stopped for the time being? Anyone else heard this? I scheduled to go in July 11th,2022 get the lugs checked etc and VIN recorded for the pump. Here is the post below;

"So guys i havent read every page and been away for awhile. Took my 2020 in today, recorded engine S/n and schedualed another recall and 2 warranty (seatbelt/batteries)repairs. The service rep says they can no longer order kits to do cp4 and there not sure why. Said they were authorized 2 per week i think and they just completed there first actual recall replacement (took them a full 2 days) but now can not even order parts. I am on list and guessed list was atlesst 8 weeks if they could order parts so he's not even sure when it will be for me."

Took my truck to the dealer two weeks ago. They took the engine S/N down. They ordered the parts.
I will be dropping it off tomorrow morning. They said it would be done by the end of the day.
Can’t wait until this night mere is over!!!!!

Well, considering after a long internal debate that I'm going to give my local RAM dealer a shot at this recall. They said to bring the truck in so they could set up the parts order, (need pump numbers or something) then it would be a few weeks. Its a small shop in town, they service all the sheriffs cars and city stuff. I may talk to the tech if he's there today, can tell alot from 10m of conversation.. The dealer I bought it from sells a lot of trucks but they are mostly internet sales so not sure how many they actually end up servicing and its over an hour away so Id be spending that in fuel twice to take it there.. I pray it'll be like Larry's and a work of art, but more than likely with my luck it'll come back missing parts, 1/2 put back together and scratches in the paint.... thoughts?

I got my truck back the same day. They replaced the HPFP and reprogrammed the PCM. I asked them if they replaced the fuel rail and injectors? They told me NO, RAM only sends them the HPFP with new wiring harness kit. They inspected the fuel lines and found no contamination. If they had found contamination, at that time they would of had to order more parts, who knows how long they would of had my truck? The tech did a great job, it looks like it came from the factory.
So I got lucky, dodged the bullet my night mere over!!!
