Engine has started squealing sound at about 1800 RPM and continues after changing serpentine belt and idler pulley, both of which looked normal. Everything is working and power seems normal. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
I would be looking for a boost leak. Possible causes would be broken clamp or torn flexible connectors between the turbo and intercooler and between intercooler and intake plenum.
Thanks, John, you got it! It was a boost leak, where I had removed a section for access. I realigned the metal tube and rubber connectors and tightened them more. I didn't realize how much air pressure was in them. Thanks again
There are other wheels besides the idler pulley. I suggest you take the belt off and start it to elimiinate or ID a bad bearing. Running for a couple minutes without the water pump spinning won't hurt the engine.
