Exhaust Whistle???

Trans shop can't get it right, please advise!

I'm going to need a new starter for my truck.
I've read that Denso and Bosch remanufactured are quality products.
Any recommendations folks?

You might try your local Cummins parts counter, they might be able to turn you on to a local source that has new ones. You could be surprised.

1. Well I'm talking 2017, it was a great way to get a brand new one. Was only like $300.

2. With supply chain it could be a terrible idea. Still worth a call.

There is a place in NJ that usually stocks them but I bought from Cummins they drop shipped to me.

The factory starter on my 03 is a Denso OEM unit, it's just now showing signs of age at 249K. It might be a long shot depending on where you live, but if you can have the old unit rebuilt with new wearables that might be a better option. Genos sells rebuild kits, you can also try a Cummins dealer.

I get around to alot of places driving for AAA and I came across a shop that just rebuilds starters and alternators, I'm going to give them a shot, and hopefully end up with a starter that will last the next quarter million.

Powermaster ,a little more expensive than a reman but cranking speed is noticeably faster than oem starter, got mine from summit racing been at least 2 years ago

This company offers remanufactured units. The truck may be gone in a couple of years anyway.

Actually I see it in there, and that link says it is a NEW one. For $362 not a bad price, since LarryB link is like $200 more, and I feel they are identical units. Not bashing the markup but that's a big difference for equal parts.

Mine came with a Chrysler tag on it and was a Denso, really nice unit. (2nd Gen)

Good luck.

It says new but down below I'm reading it's remanufactured. I'll give them a call on Monday.
