Worn Leather Steering Wheel

My 06 steering wheel is looking a little worn. Not torn up, just a lot of the died/painted sections are aged. I've used conditioner on it over the years, but 17 years have taken its toll.
I was curious as to what solutions members have used to fix this issue. Ideally, I would love to have the original look and feel back.

Only a reupholstery can give you the real deal, that's what I did back then.
I used added padding in mine for a firmer grip.

Now I just googled a little and stumbled over this offer which isn't bad at all.

I don't know for sure if they're the same, but I have one from my '03 sitting in my barn...

Geno's stocks Wheelskins steering wheel covers which I have used on both my Ram, and a MB SL500. I use them to protect the original equipment more than anything else.
The trick is taking your time during install and not to be afraid to pull HARD when lacing onto the steering wheel. The thread they provide is very strong and the leather is reinforced. Gloves are mandatory.

I treat my "rugged" wheel with Mink Oil probably twice a year and it remains serviceable until I feel it needs another wipedown. Its not a daily driver so the Mink oil has a few days to "settle in"

I used this several years ago on my 2004 and it great when new but is now in need of replacement again.

This looks like a good choice, even if it increases the grip width a little. Thanks.

A little pricey, and they require the steering wheel to be pulled. Oh, and it becomes even pricier when they wrap it for you. But, if time and money are no issue, then this is a sporty looking option.

I can add that the wheel skin that Genos sell is top notch! Made a big difference on my 2014 Tradesman. It gave it a better feel with the slight increase in wheel width! Hadn't thought about using it on my '01 as it's getting a bit worn after all the years of harsh sun!
