Hi! My vacuum pump oil feed line is leaking heavily but it heads upward between the injector pump and the engine block and I can't see it. There is a line about 1 foot higher coming up from behind and connecting to the upper back of the injector pump that looks like it could be that same line, but that would not make sense as both the vacuum pump and injector pump have oil suppl lines going to them. There probably is some fitting and line entering in the hidden area. I can't find any comments about this on the forum. The shop manual is of no help and I can't find any diagrams or repair places that know these line connections. 1998 12 valve P7100 pump, first problem with the engine after 450,000 miles. Thank you in advance for any help

I think it is a bugger to get to on a P-pump, but maybe doable with a mirror. This is what it looks like.

Genos sent me that short line. If that is the right part, there is then a connection behind the injector pump. if it is a "T" fitting, then the vacuum pump and injector pump connections could be disconnected and the lines pulled out. then new lines could be run in front of, outside of the injector pump and reconnected to both devices. If there is an engine block connection behind the pump, it would be impossible to work on without removing the injector pump. if I could find a shop manual or an engine shop manual that pictured or merely described the arrangement it would solve the problem. Thanks.

There is a T fitting on the side of the block. You will probably have to remove the vacuum pump to get to it.

Thanks very much for the information, which is what I suspected. I will look up there with a mirror and see if there is any possibility of turning a nut in that tight space. If the vacuum pump has to come off I will replace the upper, injector pump supply line also. Thanks again for the info.

The part number for the hose for your truck is 3923084. Geno's should have them. I looked and looked on QuickServe for the tee fitting on a ‘98 12-valve and couldn’t find it. On the ‘95 the tee was 1/8” male pipe and two male 1/8” 45* bull nose. The ‘98 block uses metric boss fittings instead of pipe threads.

This is the thread I had a while back looking for one for my ‘95.

Although the STORM blocks are in '98s (straight thread o ring metric) I don't think all '98s had them. I had one that was a 53 block for awhile. If it has a second oil galley port to the rear of the one I pictured and a plugged hole for a second drain line off the turbo it is a STORM. The fittings for the oil lines to the pumps will be the same on the T, only the threads into the block are different.
